Bastille and Oberkampf are lively parts of town made for entertainment. During the day rows of unassuming bars welcome customers for a bite or a drink, but it’s at night this area really comes to life. Students and young professionals fill the busy bars around Bastille and Oberkampf. At Place de la Bastille, crowds flock to the Opéra Bastille in the evening and groups wait for coveted tickets during the day. Towards Republique, skateboarders practice their tricks while others chill out at the square. If you’re looking for late-night revelry, this is your neighbourhood.
A peaceful promenade through greenery, past fascinating architecture, high above street level on this disused railway track. Plenty of benches to stop a while, as the joggers trot past, artworks, ponds and fountains. There are information kiosks every now and then but we didn't find one that was open. Wide variety of plants. You could walk along the top one...
"Small street with bars and restaurants and lots of people in evenings"
reviewed 11 July 2017 by JanisLatvia
Went there just incidentally. I was surprised by amounts of people present. The bars and restaurants were quite occupied and many of the visitors were just staying and chatting in the street. I think that this is a good place if you are looking for night life and some adventure.
The church is of course a secondary attraction in Paris, but as it was about a 5-minute walk from my hotel, what the hell? It's next to the Saint Ambroise metro (of course), has a little park in front of it, and next to the park/metro there is a bar if you want to have a coffee while admiring the...
My husband stopped in here for lunch after a long and chilly morning of walking, and I'm so glad we did. We loved the warm and cozy atmosphere and wonderful service. We both ordered the ham and egg crepe, followed by their amazing dessert crepes and coffee--the perfect meal!
Visited on my own at a lunch time, watched the pizza be made fresh and ate in (it's very small, primarily a takeaway) but staff very accommodating.
Pizza large and delicious, served on a batman plate (extra points) and came with a free can of coke, all for €10,50 - not bad at all by Parisian prices.
Will 100% be...
This bistro offers an incredible value. Main courses is about 20E, but they are outstanding. The deserts as well. If you eat here, you must have dessert! You can also see that the waiter and the two chefs have a love for the food they are creating. This bistro is so small that you are just feets away from the...
What a fabulous experience it was dining at Jean Yves. The location, food, service and company were wonderful. Loved the explanation of each dish, loved the Asian influence in lovely modern food.
We will be back!
I had a great stay at Hotel Fabric. Truly "home from home" and right in the heart of my favourite part of Paris. Great rooms and a wonderful lobby which has so many personal touches. Charming and cool at the same time. Excellent friendly staff.
Claire & Fabiola: thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality!
5 out of 5!
A splendid little hotel in a convenient location, we (two couples) were here for a week and choosing this hotel made our visit to Paris even more of a pleasure.
The breakfast buffet was extensive, tasty and kept fresh. Coffee was to be had throughout the day. There was an honesty bar for a quiet drink at the end of...
Hotel provides what it offers, with a smile. Rooms are smallish but perfectly adequate for our four night stay. Superbly located in a buzzy, busy part of the capital, Le Mareuil is literally a minute away from metro station and bus stops. Hotel staff are very willing to help with advice, recommendations, and helpful hints to make staying at the...
Being right in the middle of the eating/night life/cafe Arrondissement of Paris (or so it seems) very much of Paris can be experienced on foot from here. The convenience of this hotel is slightly hindered by being quite arty but it is exiting nevertheless.
Very nice hotel. Perfect location nice and very friendly staff.
For check in and check out the car can be parked in front of the hotel.
A public car park is very close to the hotel and very easy to reach.
