This is the neighbourhood of grand and impressive Haussmann-designed apartments and buildings. National museums overlook the Eiffel Tower and embassies fill the avenues and streets. Locals head to the butcher, florist, or bakery on their daily rounds amidst luxury and splendour, all with a view over Paris and its most famous tower. Snuggled in between the grand buildings are small art galleries and homes of historical significance. With a rich legacy from 19th century politics, art, and architecture, you can’t help but be reminded of the belle époque, the Universal Exhibitions and the nobility that have frequented and shaped these streets.
The Asian collections of this museum in Paris is unique. The statues from Cambodia, the wooden boxes from India, and the fish shaped glass bottles made in ancient Afhanistan are amongst the memorable artefacts here. Highly recommended!
We visited to view the Exhibition of Otto Wagner. Master of Viennese Art Nouveau which was very interesting.
We then stayed to view the Gothic Architecture which was extensive. We then viewed the upper floors which had exhibits of more modern buildings.
The view of the Eiffel Tower from the ground floor is also very good.
Les Jardin du Trocadero is an amazing viewpoint for Eiffel. It is great for pictures with a good height of Eiffel Tower in your background. Further, there are a lot of merchants in the area selling crepes, wine, pastries, etc. - it is a good picnic spot too!
extra note: Good view of the sparking Eiffel tower at night too!...
This museum of architecture and monumental sculpture is located in the Palais de Chaillot.
We visited the Palais de Chaillot principally to view the Oscar Wagner exhibition but as the ticket also included the Musee de l'Architecture et du Patrimoine which proved very interesting. Large sculptures and parts of building and churches are housed in an amazing space.

L'Archeste was an excellent discovery last week. A small, corner restaurant, yet with well-spaced tables and an uncluttered feel to it. A very well-balanced and executed 7 course degustation is one's only option, but a very good one - and one which they were happy to modify to address the needs of our pescatarian diner.
The Japanese chef presents thoughtfully...
Apart from the food, what is striking in this place is the quality of the team and the positive vibes that rein. The chef, Christophe Moret an ex student of Alain Ducasse, previously at Lasserre and Plaza Athénée, has succeeded in creating more than a restaurant : an exquisite experience. His pastries chef Michael Bartocetti is EXCEPTIONAL!! All along the...
A new favorite in the City of Light - The Shangri-La Hotel Paris. A former resident of the grand-nephew of Napoleon Bonaparte , Prince Roland. The estate perfectly situated for dramatic evening views of the Eiffel Tower in the Terrace Suite , thanks to American Express FHR. While hotel appealed to the senses, the staff touched each guest with warmth...
Absolutely loved my stay. An absolute gem of a find - will now only stay there when I am in Paris. The place is stunning. I have friends and family there- they saw the hotel and my room and were blown away...
This has a great location. There are lots of stores and restaurants in the neighbourhood too.
So, soísh reception. They struggle to combine two individual reservations to a single two day one.
Really quite nice room - super bathroom. That said TV was a let down - nothing in English worked.
Very good buffet breakfast.
If you can get the...
Excellent location on 16th arrondissement, cozy rooms newly renovated, good bathroom amenities, parking space inside the premises, perfect size - not too big and with all the comforts. Simple to come in and out. Feel like staying in our own home in Paris.
No complaints. Great value hotel room with a a great location. It is small yet comfortable with rooms that are clean. I had a small room with a double bed. The staff is welcoming, friendly and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again.
