We had a giftcard for a 230 EUR value. The day of our appointment, Ive got sick and could assist.
We called the Salzlounge and inform them as soon as we knew we couldn't go.
Anyway they refused to re-schedule our appointment, so basically they STOLE 230 EUR, for a service they didn't provide, in an unexpected and unwanted situation...
Friends of ours recommended getting the u bahn and s bahn around Berlin. I was a bit sceptical at first and was tempted to get a taxi from the airport to our hotel, but we gave it a go and we're so impressed. It was safe, clean, reliable and always on time. Ticket machines in various languages make the purchase...
The Oberfeld offers excellent German food in an easterly suburb, with pleasant seating both outside ("Biergarten") and inside. Inside has a bit of a living-room atmosphere. Products are mostly regional and seasonal - all self-made (they say).
Found this place by accident and was pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and the portions were huge! The service was very friendly and although the waiters didn't speak English we managed all right. I'll visit the place again next time I'm in Berlin!
"3 nights bed and breakfast (funeral of a relative combined with sightseeing)"

I stayed at the small privately run budget hotel in a quiet residential street in the eastern Berlin suburb of Kaulsdorf. The S-Bahn (line S5 to the city centre) had a station (Kaulsdorf), which was only a 10 minutes walk (via a subway beneath the S-Bahn tracks) from the hotel. Avoiding the subway would involve a longer walk.
We only spent one night at this hotel and our stay was very pleasant. The room was clean, well furnished and comfortable. Fast wifi. the only disadvantage is that in the morning you could hear alarmclocks of other guests repeatedly.
