With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
In your visit, you can understand how developed was the roman civilisation. And the ruins of 20 centuries ago are quiet well preserved underneath the gothic city of Barcelona, dated around 6 centuries ago.
I spent a lot of time seated and just admiring the beautiful architecture. I didn't do much exploring after that. Maybe that's all I needed. Just a quiet time alone with my thoughts. They provided us with scarves of some sort to cover our legs and arms. I didn't mind as it was cool in there. Oh they were geese...
"Great restaurant! Fantastic food and really good service!"

We got lost at the old town and were late for our reservation, but decided to go anyway in spite of our 40 minutes lateness. Owner not only offered us place at the bar, because the place was packed, but moved us to one of the tables as soon as it cleared up. The food was really great - yummy,...
all the flavor of ice cream is so good. He made for different fruits but for me the best is apple pie and chocolate flavor is best. If you come in Barcelona dont forget to pass by in that ice cream store. is real adventure :)
Fabulous hotel and the service by the staff was superb! From the moment we arrived in the hotel the staff couldn't do enough for us with welcoming drinks and cold towels to the impressive breakfast in the morning. The rooftop terrace was beautiful and relaxing. Would highly revommend.
Stay here, you won’t regret it.
This is a lovely little hotel in the Gotic area of Barcelona, a bit of a challenge to find initially, but with a patient driver it is possible. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and have the added appeal of having been incorporated into the original Roman wall of the old city. The rooftop...

The location was perfect!! In the center of everything, food, shopping etc.
The service at the Hotel was extraordinary, from welcoming us to answering our every need, to a beautiful breakfast, Tapas & drinks late afternoon, fresh apricots to our room,
and the staff was so anxious to please us and to make sure we had everything we
Great hotel, in a very convenient location. The area in front of the hotel is taxi only, but it's easy enough to get around in the Gothic quarter. The hotel is very new, and the staff is fantastic. Rooms have all the features you'd expect, and the location provides a great center for your visit to Barcelona.
Duquesa Suites is situated ideally in Barcelona. The Gothic quarter is right next door as is the Rambla. It’s very easy to get to the beach and La Sagrda is a nice 40 min walk. We also walked to Montjuic area though that was a bit hilly. The only attraction we drove to was Park Güell, on the way back...
