Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
"Perfect for shopping during traditional siesta time"

We were rather late getting to lunch and shopping and were greeted with shutters in the small alleys so walked over to to Las Ramblas. The teens were happy with the bustle and variety along this district. It is touristy.
This monument is at the port end of La Rambla, you need to cross a busy road to reach it, there are several statues around the base and up the column, as you look up to Columbus on top. You can go down the steps and take the lift to the top and be rewarded with great city views
Interesting museum with lots of material I hadn’t seen before, including the porn film made by King Alonso of Spain! Worth a visit as it’s not too expensive. Would recommend if you have 45mins to spare.
Drinkable water tap, with history and connection to the Barcelona football club. In earlier times, before the internet, fans would gather here to await news of the football club's away games because the building behind the faucets housed a news agency
Highly recommend this cafe. Had delicious waffles and coffee. Prices are reasonable as location is very central. Right next to the Market. Charming place with very friendly staff. Great display of pastries to take away as well.
We were in Barcelona for the day on a cruise. This was our third time Barcelona. We’ve been to other one’s in the chain and we have noticed some slight differences between them. We ordered the potatoas bravas and they were YUM. We also ordered the crispy aubergine with honey lime and this was notably different not only in the...
We ate and drank here as a group of 16 yesterday. The restaurant sent us menus in advance of our flight to Barcelona to help us decide if we’d like to pre book anything or if we would have liked to have ordered off the sharing menu (specific for large groups) - which was a nice touch. The food was...
This hotel was exactly what we were looking for - luxurious without being overpriced. Staff were welcoming from the very beginning and got us off to an excellent start. Loved the miniature balcony, chic bathroom, excellent location and very comfortable room. The only downsides were that the gym was not really enough to be classed as a gym, breakfast was...
Clean and tidy hotel with an excellent location. The staff where very helpful and gave us a free upgrade which was great. The only minor disappointment was it didnt have its own bar(i like to have a beer while my wife is getting ready and its very expensive to drink on The Rambles). That said i would certainly stop at...

Stayed here in October with some girlfriends. Excellent central location, and friendly helpful staff.
We had twin rooms, en suite and were very pleased with them. The bathrooms were pretty new, the rooms clean and the beds comfortable. decor was perhaps a little dated but you get what you pay for and we didn't plan on spending time in the...
Nice hotel room very close to Plaza Catalunya.Staff was friendly.
Everything was nice except noise from the corridor in the morning. Young chilren running between different rooms from 8 to 10 in the morning every day, until they checked out.
We spent 7 nights at the Oriente Atiram, having booked a Ramblas Deluxe room in advance. The room we were given upon arrival, however, was not up to the mark. Manu at reception was exceptionally helpful: he moved us to a bigger and better room immediately, and left a detailed note for the Manager Elainie (sp.?), explaining what our online...
