Vienna’s poshest green leafy suburb is also its most romantic hotspot. Walk up Grinzinger Strasse with its many historic wine taverns. The tops of nearby Nussberg and Reisenberg hills make for great strolls through the vineyards, and the occasional discovery of a hidden winery. Popular local weekend hangouts are Neustift am Walde with even more great wine taverns, and café restaurant Cobenzl, up on Cobenzl hill – fantastic for great vistas of Vienna. The woodland around Kahlenberg has a wonderful and not too strenuous hiking path - just don't forget the insect repellent. If you have adventurous children, take them to Waldseilpark Kahlenberg (forest rope park Kahlenberg). A must-do if you want a taste of the Vienna Woods is a stop at Josefinenhütte next door with its great food, cosy interiors and wonderful outdoor space.
"Winter walking thorugh the vineyards over Vienna"
reviewed 1 week ago by Bridget J A
Largely based on the recommendations of others on Trip Advisor, on a cold but clear winter afternoon, we took the 38A bus out of Heiligenstadt to Kahlenberg and walked down the Stadtwanderweg. The seasonal vineyards and winery stands were closed, but the walk on the mostly paved wanderweg was a delightful way to spend the afternoon. We ended up in...
This public housing complex, is a huge court yard. A lot of the flats have balconies. The communal space has mature trees, a playground, sports hall and kindergarten. I thought it was beautiful-grand and human. It was a short ride to the end of the U line 4 to get there, along the Danube Canal. well worth the trip.
Our Austrian friends took us to this place for the views over Vienna and of the Danube in particular. It was a lovely sunny day and we did indeed have some magnificent views. It wasn't filled with loads of tourists either so we were able to take our time looking out over the city and taking pictures.

"We loved it!"
reviewed 16 October 2017 by Karen H
Our family has been living in Vienna for about 6 months now, and although we had heard that Grinzing was very touristy part of the city, my husband and I decided to give it a try on a recent date night. We hadn't really chosen a particular place to go, just peaked into a few heurigers and felt this one...

Stopped here for lunch after walking down from Kahlenberg . Atmosphere was great with lovely courtyard cool and in shade. what I wanted was finished for the day but they offered alternative and said it was basically the same. ( the price difference was 2 euro more expensive in range of 20 Euro, it would have been a nice gesture...

"Good old Grinzing style"

On a cold evening in December we found our way to Zum Martin Sepp and liked what we found. The glühwein was just right after the walk from the bus and then followed starters and wiener schnitzel (the original version) which all were tasty. The size of the schnitzel was - without exaggeration - huge. The recommended Veltliner, from the...
Almost everything was perfect! We were as family and we are very satisfied with service.
Location is ok, but the connection by tram and metro is excelent.
The only dissadvantage is cleaning during the staying. They do not vacuum and change glasses.
The hotel interior come from 80's, but that is all negative rating. The staff was friendly, I was surprised because of the receptionist can speak Hungarian language.
The room interior was perfect, the foods were tasty only the restaurant place was too small.
Bed was very comfortable, only the door of the bathroom was surprise, because of it was by...
Very nice hotel, very nice people, a little out of the city, but we liked that. a great "Austrian feel" to this hotel. A 30 min bus / tram trip in, but once you got the hang of it, the bus's are uber efficient! if you don't want the City Centre hub-bub and like some quiet but still within easy...
if you want to be close to a couple of nice Heurigers is a good location. The rooms are not so clean, the chairs in the room they need to be replaced or clean deeply. The bathroom is spacious but not too many toiletries and you only get one set of towels. The room was spacious for European standards, so...
Alas I did not stay here, but ate here as part of a business conference. First impressions on entering where WOW, beautiful lounge/terrace area with amazing views of Vienna.
The staff were exceptional, always ensuring that glasses were filled and dirty ashtrays removed (we don;t get that in the UK!)
The dining hall and food (buffet) were equally as good...
