The original docklands of Darling Harbour have been transformed into a tourist mecca with entertainment for the whole family. Cockle Bay Wharf offers dining options from budget to upscale and million dollar views of the harbour. Young crowds gather on weekends for nightlife that ranges from salsa clubs to Dj’s. Families can visit the Chinese Gardens of Friendship or the Sydney Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. The Sydney Maritime Museum and the IMAX theatre are also popular attractions. The Harbourside Shopping Centre is a site unto itself, with hundreds of shops, restaurants and bars. On Saturdays in the summer, the city puts on a spectacular fireworks show along the harbour's shore and there are plenty of other free events during the year - Darling Harbour Fiesta, VIVID’s light installations and the Sydney Festival, just to name a few.
There is lot of Australian characters in the museum. For those who know them or know about Australian history it is a place of fun. The ability to touch and feel the statues is a great way to have fun.
You need a about an hour to explore the place.
Skipped queue as ordered online & collected tickets. Enjoyed this experience (while thought Sea Life was very poor & wouldn’t do 2 event option again). We paid for koala photos & that was a nice experience. Would definitely do this again if travelling with people new to Australia
One of the world's oldest surviving electrically operated swingspan bridges. The current bridge opened in 1902. Now provides the main pedestrian connection between the Sydney CBD & Darling Harbour. The swingspan generally opens for demonstrations on weekends and public holidays.
Fantastic park. Great use of space. Definitely bring swimmers. My kids loved climbing the giant spider net and redirecting the water through the gates and levers. A must visit for young families passing through the area.
I was the only certified diver in my group. I was worried that the people that never dove might slow everything down or someone might have an issue. Totally not the case, they taught all the new people how to use the equipment in a few mins of practice and away we went. This was something I've wanted to do...
Spending New Year’s Eve on the Rhythm Boat was simply fantastic!
The Abba band were brilliant and a very welcome surprise (maybe I didn’t read the small print), plus the comedy factor also catered for those who may not be such big fans (but who isn’t?).
Service was fab, food good and plentiful with the first platters placed on each...
We went for the banquet at $80 per head and were treated to a stunning selection of seafood, sashimi and waygu beef. From memory 9 courses with a dessert plate to die for to finish. Great value for an outstanding meal. My only minor gripe is the lack of a toilet on premises (definitely a first world problem!)
Saw some good reviews and close walking distance to our hotel, the restaurant didn't dissapoint! Szechuan chicken was perhaps the best I've had. Service was excellent, nice wine selection, the view across the harbour is great of course. Will come back next time I'm in Sydney.
I visited here on Wednesday dinner.
If you are going to visit here, you should make a reservation.
Because many people want to come here!
I have never eaten snails and veal dishes before.
I could not stop the admiration.
because, it everything was fantastic!
Also, staff provided good service as well.
I want to visit this place again!
Was sat rather quickly, but after that it was at least ten minutes before I saw my server for a drink order. Once the meat service begins, it's practically nonstop. The skewers guys are all nice and friendly. There is an array of meat that comes out and often. You order the sides you want from the menu via the...
We had a weekend getaway, I really didn’t know where to book, but decided on Darling Harbour, then I saw the Sofitel, and the rooms, deciding on the Harbour View, as I LOVE LOOKING AT THE WATER, I wasn’t disappointed at all!
The layout of the room was great, big & roomy, had everything we needed.
Bed was so comfy,...
Great place to stay. The location was excellent as you could walk to so many places and so much to do in that area. Very clean and had a washer and dryer which was a plus. Nice to sit on the balcony and have breakfast. It helped having a kitchenette in the room to help with meals so we didn't...
Hyatt Regency is a great location for those wanting to be central to all that Sydney has to offer ( ie Opera House, City shopping, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour ). The staff right from valet parking through to reception were very accommodating. We really enjoyed our stay.
