Seek and ye shall find! Prahran is a treasure hunter’s paradise of vintage stores, upscale boutiques and emporiums. Chapel Street is a one-stop shop with specialty stores selling just about everything. The famous Chapel Street Bazaar has so many curious and vintage knick-knacks that you will feel as if you're in a huge and busy museum. By contrast, at the northern end of Chapel Street, South Yarra and Windsor cater to high-end designer labels and exclusive boutiques. The community flocks to Prahran’s organic markets as a Saturday ritual, while art and film students leaf through vinyl LPs on Greville Street. The gay community also has a strong presence here. Prahran’s heritage buildings like the Reads Emporium and Prahan arcade offer a grand sense of scale and history. No matter your interest, come feel the pulse of one of Melbourne’s most loved precincts.
John Darling's old grainstore dates back to 1883 and has a ground floor of bluestone. It is now an eatery - rare Steakhouse and the surrounding warehouses on this block have been re-purposed in the same way.
Wedged between the leafy suburbs of South Yarra and Windsor, Prahran has a great reputation for its stylish bars, Asian and Indian eateries, late-night clubs, funky cafes, great coffee shops and cliché specialty boutiques.
Prahran Market is Australia's oldest food market and it's a fabulous place to satisfy your obsession with great food. Mouth-watering fresh fruit and vegetables, fine imported...
We booked 2 escape room at Rush last weekend to celebrate my boy's 14th birthday. We had 5 kids and 1 adult in each room and they all had a great time! Game master and staffs are very friendly and patient, it was easy to book and very smooth booking experience. Highly recommended! The kids all wanted to go back...
"Small. A good rest stop for a suppa. Cinemas and an opportunity venu"
reviewed June 24, 2018 by Richard H
I've visited a few times. It is one of those places I have mixed emotions about. It is clean, open, light and airy, but there is not a lot there. Roll'd was fine and the other eateries are good. But it is underwhelming.
The cinemas are always good.
The few eateries and the cinemas would be the biggest attractions.
Seeing the photo of Two Birds One Stone's pancakes meant we had to visit. I can say they are even better than they look! The other meal we had was the big breakfast and although it was $24 was definitely not big. Luckily I couldn't finish my meal so my husband was able to fill up on pancakes. Coffee was...
I went to this restaurant two nights in a row. The eye fillet is just melted in my mouth. The wait staff were very accomodating. Drinks a little slow. Following night took family, inc a couple of kids, everyone was very happy.
A little hidden gem... Had been driving past for quite a while..... Finally some friends had randomly made a booking and we went (4 people). The ambience, the service and the Food could not be faulted! We came on a relatively busy Saturday night... This is not impose of the quality of the food or the speed of service..... A...
A wonderful hotel to stay and experience the atmosphere of well known Chapel Street.
The hotel offers wonderfully appointed rooms with comfort and luxury. We had the Buffet Breakfast and the quality was amazing and satisfying. The staff offered excellent service with a smile and ensured our stay exceeded our expectations. Just an enjoyable stroll to the heart of Chapel...
We stayed at the Olsen overnight to celebrate my husband's birthday. Good location for restaurants and close to Jam Factory for the movies. The staff were excellent and the young girl at Reception was extremely helpful and pleasant. Would happily stay again if we are in the area
"back at the quest after 12 months and its been refreshed"
reviewed 1 week ago by 824gavinl
I haven't been back to the Quest Chapel street for at least 12 months. previously I felt the property was ageing and the interior décor not up to the standard you would expect in an upmarket part of inner Melbourne. Competition is fierce for business traveller bookings and I'm glad to see a refreshed décor, engaging, welcoming and accommodating staff.
Easy to find, parking around the back of the block.. nice clean reception area, staff were friendly..
First room we had - the bathroom was locked from the inside but they quickly swapped our room..
New room was spacious, clean and quiet..
Across the road is Zumba’s deserts, then up the road is the very yummy Two Birds One Stone...
I have stayed there few times. It is situated in heart of south Yarra. Just next to station few shops down. Surrounded by restaurants and shops. Very convenient and the price it self is very affordable. Nice and clean place to stay in budget.
