Better known as 'Yaowarat' among locals, Chinatown is Bangkok's bustling district that never sleeps. During the day, the main street and its small alleyways are filled with a vibrant mix of colours, scents and flavours coming from the roadside restaurants and all-day markets. The real action, however, happens after sunset. Surrounded by neon lights, Thais and tourists alike flock here around dinnertime to feast on some of the best street food in town. Escape the chaos by venturing a little further from the main road and discover hidden shrines, friendly locals and daily life in its purest form.
I really enjoy a trip in the river As you can see so much of the city from this river and what a beautiful view it is. Take a ricer tour or river taxi to or from the grand palace.
If you take a taxi then bargain the fare.
Good for a 10 minute shopping break if you a tourist in the area. There are guard booths at each entrance but nobody asked for a ticket to be purchased. Active religious site, appropriate dress required.
We stumbled onto this while headed to the Golden Buddha. It is right across the street and it is a beautiful structure. So much life happening here and the colors and the smells are just mind blowing. Stepping back and watching the people is just amazing.
One of our favourite seafood restaurants in bangkok! low price but delicious food! The big shrimps and curry crab are our favourite dishes. highly recommended!
But the environment is not really that good, and also you need to travel a long way from the bangkok city centre to China town. You can also try some other food stalls on the...
We had a wonderful evening with delicious food and felt so welcome by Goi and Florian. This was truly a fantastic impression we received of Bangkok. Highly recommendable, off the beaten track, just an incredible relaxing and and enjoyable evening!
Thanks Goi and Florian
I stopped here for a drink as I was finding my hotel. The staff made me feel extremely welcome, wished me a happy new year and couldn't do enough for me to keep me happy. I had a cocktail and a coke - very cheap for such a high quality drink. It looks like they have live music here so...
"Best Street Food in the entire Bangkok Chinatown"

Top notch food in a street food setting. Wide variety of menu options. Excellent whole steamed or fried fish and crab dish. Chef cooks with a (literal) flare. The downside is the long wait (over 1 hour after placing your order) during busy hours.
We had a great stay. The rooms are very beautiful and quiet. You don’t hear any noise from outside even that the hotel is located in the middle of Chinatown. The breakfast was fantastic. Staff is friendly and always willing to help.
The only thing that was disappointing is the way they treated my girlfriend’s complains about few bugs in...
Great stay at this hotel. Everyone was helpful and kind, even when the language barrier was tricky. Breakfast buffet was one of the best we have had, heaps of delicious options. The pool was nice and clean with a great bar that had awesome deals. Nice wee gym for a quick work out. Overall, would recommend to anyone wanting to...
The hotel is great located, next to Chinatwon and to main areas. The rooms are standard rooms, if you are not looking for luxury and you just want somewhere comfortable to stay they are great. The breakfast is standard, maybe I was missing more continental food as I do not like to eat Asian food for breakfast, but this is...
You stay at this hotel for one reason which is its location opposite Hua Lamphong railway station. It is cheap and basic but does the job for a night. Room has two double beds, a Thai style bathroom and great views. Wifi worked well but little English TV choice. No safe but hot water was good. Free breakfast basic but...
Stayed at the Grand China for four night , hotel is pleasant with friendly and helpful staff, the rooms are a bit shabby , and bathrooms need updating, it's in the middle of China town so very busy area, would stay again .
