"Not as historic and not as scenic but still enjoyable"
reviewed 3 weeks ago by Grover R
Singapore has so many great bridges that a vehicle bridge like this gets lost with other bridges more scenic and more historic. Still we crossed over and under and enjoyed the scenery, during the day and night.
Hong Lim Park is a nice little park between Clarke Quay and Chinatown, and opposite Parkroyal Pickering.
Doesn’t seem to be frequently used, not many people using it each time I walked past, although it is a lovely little park.
If planning to go to any of Singapore’s beautiful Southern Isles here's some tips for you:-
Available from Marina South Pier.
- Look for Heng Lee Boat Service which is on the left beside the shops.
- Their prices are cheaper and the boat schedules are more frequent.
- Their boat is also newer (less than a month old...
My wife and I enjoyed one of the best French meals we have had anywhere at Vianney Massot. The decor was stunning, the service excellent, and the food worthy of a special visit. The presentation was beautiful and the flavors delectable. Go before this restaurant is "discovered" and reservations become impossible.
Wanted to try the squid ink paella but due to my friend's dietary restriction could not do so... BUT the Free range chicken paella as well as tapas was all a HIT! Will go back to try the squid ink paella.
Small hotel in a great location. The rooms were tiny but clean and cool. The hotel is on a side street so Grab and taxis had plenty of room to pick you up. The hotel is minutes walk from Clarke Quay and some great museums. The people at the front desk seemed to fumble there way through most things but...
Friendly, helpful staff, convenient location, clean room. Room was very small, couldn’t open my suitcase up properly unless it was on the bed. Toilet was also in tiny space - couldn’t sit on the toilet unless was sideways due to the closeness to the wall. Shower was a decent size however.

Another reviewer wondered out loud why there aren't more reviews of The Quay Hotel -- "shhh" -- maybe we should keep it a secret! For us, the Quay provided a perfect location near all sights for a 24 hour layover at Changi (without having to stay at the airport). The interior room suffered from no street noise at all (as...
We booked three rooms at the Frangrance Hotel (aka ibis budget Clarke Quay). The first night no all of us got the quality of the rooms we booked. With the help of the front desk we were able to rectify this. The concierges at the front desk were all very helpful and supplied us with enough water to drink every...
I stayed 2 nights. It great location and Boat Quay, Merlion fountain, Museum, Financial hub, harbour near Durian place over looking Marina bay were all in walking distance however the hotel was pretty stinky mainly in lift and corridor. Being on top floor, room was average and great view from rooftop. I couldn't find any other hotel in this convenient...
