Locals may not know Vila Buarque by name, but they are surely aware of the neighbourhood's landmarks and uniqueness. Rua Maria Antonia is a classic college area, where students hang out in the many pubs. Nearby you will find two important cultural centres: SENAC and SESC Consolação. They offer a variety of affordable classes, plays, concerts and recreation activities. Vila Buarque is home to the Santa Casa Hospital, an important institution in the city with an amazing architecture. A few blocks away from the hospital, visitors can find karaoke bars and Santa Cecilia Church.
Minhocao is great on weekends when it is closed for traffic. It has about 3km of extension ehre you can walk, ride a bike, jog or do some skating. It's located near downtown Sao Paulo and runs in the middle of old buildings. Nowadays you can also appreciate some great graffiti and some vertical gardens, hanging on the side of...
"Nice weekend walk, bike ride or run on closed elevated expressway"
reviewed 28 August 2015 by Annex_BR
Once a dilapidated area in the city, the surroundings of the Minhocão (how us locals call it) are now being renovated and is experiencing a real estate boom.
The elevated expressway now closes for traffic at 3PM on Saturdays and remains closed until late Sunday, and is one of the few ample spaces that people of the region can go...
I don't think an Italian would be disappointed coming to this place. I've coming here for years and it continues to excel. One can not come here and don't have a polpetoni but my suggestion is to share with up to 4 people and order some of the other fantastic dishes on the menu.
"Revaluation: They recovered the quality, and service"
reviewed 27 July 2017 by Eduba101
The management acted quickly and recovers quality. This second time, they served the hamburgers at the point as requested (well done, medium, etc.) with an agile and perfect service.
Congratulations to the manager who knew how to react to a bad review and turn it into a beautiful compliment.
Keep it up. Very Good Burguers
If you visit Brazil then you must visit a churrascaria (Brazil steak house) unless you are vegetarian , this is excellent choice and I loved the steak and the atmosphere, the only downside is the location as the area is more on the dodgy side
This restaurant, across the "tracks" from the wealthy neighborhood of Higienopolis, is one of the many opening in Santa Cecilia and making it a new culinary destination in Sao Paulo. It is Italian fare, served with style and grace in a nice ambience - you have your choice of indoor or outdoor seating. The wine list is extensive, and the...
I would say that Jardim de Napoli has the best polpetone in São Paulo, The cheese melts inside it the and the tomato sauce and meat are delicious. With pasta or salad, don't miss to try it. The original restaurant is also very close to the standard in the shopping higienopolis mall.
Friendly and welcoming staff. We were able to get our room a few hours before the check in, as a courtesy from them.
The room was not big, big enough space for luggage, great bed, good shower and it had amazing blackout courtains.
Breakfast was amazing, many options of breads, fruits, coffe, yougurt, basically everything.
It is located in the...
I usually stay at Hotel Dan when I am in São Paulo. The rates are economical and the hotel is comfortable and safe. There is access to good public transportation and many fine restaurants in the neighboorhood. The breakfast is excellent and the staff is polite and courteous.
