We just went for a walk around near our hotel which was on the side of a very busy road. Turn left out of the lobby walk past the Police station and you find this lovely park which was an oasis of calm. Beautiful tea rooms on the edge of the lake tool
Dongtai road and its market has been recently demolished... :-(
I visited it ten years ago and was a fascinating place, but landlords think something different. Probably, an anonymous mall will replace this small piece of the old Shanghai.
