The helipad of the Shangri-La Doha. We actually ate breakfast here this week! Definitely a unique experience, and my best view from breakfast ever. And yes, it was a little windy, but we didn't come close to losing anything over the side!
I traveled with @travelnewlyweds, @PointsandTravel and @VisitQatar. Highly recommend Qatar for a 2-3 day layover if you're flying through on Qatar Airways.
I’m in Qatar! I flew LA to Doha non-stop on Qatar Airways and am spending a few days checking out fun things to do around the country. Today was all about camels and dune bashing. This was during a quick stop near the Saudi Arabian border. So gorgeous!
I love TripAdvisor's annual Travelers' Choice Awards. The Best Small Hotel in the world this year? Anastasis Apartments on Santorini. Nine months after our stay, my wife and I had our third child, and we haven't traveled again by ourselves since!
This was sunset from our balcony - much better than braving the crowded walkways of Oia (just to the north) to watch the same sunset.
Right now, looking out at Cabernet Sauvignon vines from my room at Las Alcobas in St. Helena. A great place for a weekend getaway - except that I'm a little annoyed they don't accept kids, so I won't be able to bring my family anytime soon.
Who caught the lunar eclipse last night? It was amazing from Southern California, since the skies were so clear! And it was nice that it was early in the evening. I've never traveled in order to see an eclipse, but I'll always watch if there's one where I happen to be.
This is a composite of two images - the sky exposed for 13 seconds and the moon exposed for 3.2 seconds.
Happy New Year! I figured a sunrise shot was appropriate for the start of 2019. I always head out before sunrise when I'm traveling, and this was one of my favorite walks from last year - in Copenhagen, where the still canals perfectly reflected the buildings and boats of Nyhavn.
