We loved the look of The Captain's Daughter. We ended up eating outside (at the back) on a sunny day under the protection of umbrellas. A pleasant restful outlook while we enjoyed our meals. Between the four of us we had two lots of the...More

Great menu and very reasonable. The staff were very helpful and we sat outside under the shade sails. The inside was like an English pub and this bought back many great memories of my recent holiday in England.

Good tasting food, brought to us with minimal delay despite it being a fairly busy day. We sat outside but there were a lot of flies about so perhaps the perfectly good interior seating is a better choice when the mussel trawlers are working!
Late of the ferry from Wellington and ready to eat, we stopped at Captain’s Daughter with no expectation of anything better than standard pub grub. Service was a bit slow but the food was delicious. Strongly recommend.
