Locally sourced, freshly cooked, lovely food in a lovely hotel. Great choice on the menu and very good wine selection too. The Staff are more than friendly and accommodating. Dining room bright and modern with great views.

I called the restaurant late Friday afternoon to see if they could fit 4 of us in for dinner that evening. The manager (?) said he could but it would have to be at 6:30pm. A little early for dinner but after reading TA reviews I thought it must be popular so thought we were lucky to get a table... More

We had a wonderful meal here. The food was lovely and the staff were great. Try and get a window seat, having dinner watching the sun set was quite something!

Me and my husband stayed in a hotel 2 miles away from here. As we have a taste card we have searched places to eat nearby and this one came up. I looked them up on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a go. We have booked the table the night before (and I would definitely recommend to do so... More

Three course meal for two with a bottle of wine - really good food, locally sourced and well presented, with sensible portions and spot on value for money. The atmosphere was lovely, we ate in a beautifully refurbished stable/stall area with privacy and intimacy - for me this less formal dining atmosphere combined with quality food made this a better... We could tell straight away that the food had indeed been cooked freshly , with passion and to order using high quality ingredients. Imaginative menu and very good value. The restaurant is in a lovely setting overlooking the garden and fells and we had apertifs and after dinner drinks in the conservatory. Everything is hand made from bread to biscuits... More

Good selection of food to suit all tastes, plenty of specials to run alongside the set menu. Drinks in the conservatory followed by evening meal in a cosy, relaxing dining room. The plate was not only set out to look appealing but the food was also delicious and meat good quality. Would highly recommend.

Really, really beautiful food! Ate here one of the two nights we stayed at the hotel. We decided to do this as a wedding anniversary treat been as that was the reason for our stay. I loved the fact that we were eating in the stable bistro, and I couldn't help but smile when I discovered we were eating IN... More

The menu selection was great for a small hotel, and everything was home made on the premises, from the bread to the small biscuits that came with the drinks. Four choices, of which my selection was a rather wonderful. I started with Rice, peas, some prawns all in a bag of delightfully light batter. Like Bubble and Squeak fritters after... More

Our second visit which was as good if not better than the first. We thought the menu was excellent with a great range of dishes on offer. The service was superb and we really enjoyed the fact that the log fire was lit in the restaurant as it was a cold winters night. We used our travelzoo voucher which had... More
