New management in local hostlery

Have just had Sunday lunch with my family at The Swan Hotel as we knew it was under new management. It was excellent. All ingredients were well cooked and hot and extremely well presented. The staff and new management were happy to help with all of our requests. We had a 2 year child with us but the whole experience was as smooth and easy as could be. I would recommend this restaurant to anybody who wants a really gastro experience without having to spend a fortune. Well done to the staff at The Swan - will be seeing you again soon. Delicious keep up the good work.

Great Sunday roast

Went to the swann today as under new management We all had a roast dinner, choice of 4 different meats or veggie option. Portion size where great and well presented. All homecooked, Yorkshire pudding where massive. Great value for money would definitely recommend and you cab add a desert with your roast for just £3. Rob and vicki doing a great job pub looks so much better already.

Slightly disappointing

We arrived shortly after 12 on a Sunday, lured in by the prospect of a reasonably priced Sunday lunch. Only when we got sat down were we told that they had run out - despite people coming after us who were served said meal (although to be fair they had probably booked). How can you run out of Sunday roast bat midday in a reduced-booking situation? Anyway, we would have gone elsewhere had we known - but because we were already there we stayed and ordered from the otherwise standard pub frozen meal menu. Food was OK but nothing special and the service was not hot!

Great find in Stalham

We had lunch in The Swan as we were in Stalham looking at houses and liked the look of the place from the outside. The seating area, bar and open fire make this a very pleasant way of spending a lunch hour. We both had scampi & chips and my partner had a spotted dick and I had a banana split-all delivered quickly and all very tasty. The bar staff are friendly and we were made to feel at home-we liked the local 'only on a Wednesday' who was enjoying Plaice and chips from the two ladies next to him. Good food, lovely fire and ambiance-we will be back!

Lunch at The Swan Inn

Stopped off at the Swan for Lunch before picking up our boat at the local yard. They have pods outside but we chose to eat inside. The covid restrictions are well sign posted and the bar/eating area was very clean. Even though we were in a party of six and most had different meals they arrived virtually together, warm and were extremely tasty. The service offered was attentive and the staff all had a pleasant manner. The cost of the meals was very competitive and all in all we left refreshed (the ale was exceptional by the way!) and content. If I return to Stalham the Swan will definitely be on my list to revisit.

Service with a smile - we don't think so. The meet and greet was OK but things went downhill after that. Took ages to order, think the waiter thought he was doing us a service by eventually bothering to deal with us. Food took even longer to arrive (at least 30 mins) and was average at best. My wife thought the spaghetti bolognaise was bland and the worst she'd ever had, the quantity was poor, felt hungry all afternoon. My chilli con carne was spicy and a good helping but was dry and lacking a decent sauce. Management of social distancing was poor to non existant as people were wandering up to the bar to get drinks, etc.. Staff were wearing masks when attending at the tables, so well done on that. Decor looked recently done and was good.

We popped into the pub but we’re a bit early for the food service starting by about 40 mins. The staff could not have been more helpful. Got drinks for us, brought menus and told us as soon as the chef arrived our orders would be first. Food was great and so was the service. Pop in if you’re in the area.

We had pre-booked a Sunday lunch here a few days before we left home as we guessed it might be busy on a bank holiday weekend and so it turned out. Had a lovely lunch, food and service spot on. Would recommend if visiting the area.

After a Santa cruise with the family at Simpson’s Boat Yard we decided to lunch at The Swan and we certainly weren’t disappointed. Really warm welcome, lovely food with happy service. Well done to the whole team 👏

Sunday lunch - lovely service and great food.

We were travelling through and we were late for lunch time and hungry! We’d forgotten it was bank holiday weekend so were doubtful if we’d get in anywhere. We found the Swan inn on trip advisor and headed there, on entry we were warmly greeted and sat outside in a converted garage, (the GP was on, massive bonus!) the service was just lovely and the food was fabulous, a simple Sunday menu but that’s always a good thing in my book. We had ribeye beef dinner, Skate fish and a child’s Bolognese, then our daughter couldn’t decide what she wanted for pudding so we asked our friendly chap who was looking after us to surprise us, and he did! Huge dish of warm cookies and ice cream… absolutely amazing! We would highly recommend the Swan inn to anyone visiting or passing by, it’s simple, classy and great quality.

We visited the Swan in Stalham after going there previously when it was under different owners. Today we had really delicious food that was very excellent value for money,and great customer service,the staff couldn't do enough for you. Thankyou for a great visit,we will definitely be going again Martin,Deborah and Sophie Dunne. 👏👍😀

Disappointing

When we visited they were short on staff. The two girls running the bar couldn't be faulted, but when we tried to order a meal we were told to wait and someone would come to us. We got fed up of waiting and eventually left to go elsewhere. The landlady who we saw on the previous Saturday when it was quiet was nowhere to be seen on the evening in question. All in all very disappointing.

Delicious food, great service, and sensible covid policy

Plenty of space between tables, hand sanitizer available on entering and leaving. Food is amazing. I had the crab cake and chorizo salad, it was delicious. The staff were able to offer a salad with the kids meals (after a week on the broads, it was nice to be able to have something other than chips). Service was attentive without being oppressive. Food came out hot and in a timely fashion.

Lovely meal

We had a lovely meal out last Tuesday as a belated birthday meal with family. The food was delicious as always, and fairly good value too, maybe slightly on the expensive side, but the food was worth it. It was a really relaxed atmosphere and we were treated really well by all members of staff. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

Amazing but the star was Lily!

Fantastic meal and drinks - but the star was Lily. Super attentive and really helpful on matters of food intolerances and even on how to sensitively handle our requirements for our autistic son. Amazing!!! Thanks so much. Adnams should consider asking Lily to help design training and policies to provide this standard of care from all their establishments- we’d keep coming back to them all!!!
