We took our friends from Christchurch, north to Manakana on a cold and wet Monday. A couple of our regular haunts were closed and we discovered the Katakana Market kitchen. Well we were well pleased. Lovely location, warm open fire great food and attentive staff.

Its pretty pricey but for what you get it was a massive size and very tastey and such an amazing spot ! Would definitely recommend.
If we want a brekky or brunch in Matakana, there's only one place for us: the Matakana Country Kitchen. The menu is broad, catering for all tastes, the food is great and the staff are friendly. You can eat overlooking the Matakana River, Recommended!
