We regularly visit The Blue Anchor and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. We recently went for a roast dinner and it was the best pub roast we've ever had!

My friend and I have just enjoyed the most superb fish and chips here. Crispy beer-battered fresh cod, perfectly cooked chips and a wonderful salad ( without onion-hooray-)in a very nice dressing (without balsamic vinegar- more hoorays).. The coffee was good too and the staff...More

Dined here for Sunday lunch, booked a table in case it was busy, ther service was very good, and the food just as good. Lovely well cooked and presented roast lamb, followed by great puddings. In tne summer you can dine outside, highly recommended.

Really enjoyed our food here tonight. Have tried the Blue Anchor several times over the last eight years and this has been the only time we have said we will return soon. Menu a huge improvement on previous visits. Thank you for delicious food.

Horrendously rude management and staff, dreadful food, slow service, dirty glasses and overpriced. Wetherspoons would have been preferable to this dump. Not even worthy of one star. Never again.

Have not eaten here for a few yeas now, but can highly recommend the food. They have a new chef and lovely choice of dishes. Really tasty and good value for money.

We had our first Sunday lunch at The Blue Anchor today and the whole family loved it. The lovely rare roast beef, crispy roast potatoes and massive Yorkshire puddings went down really well! If you haven’t tried this pub for a while make sure you...More

I took my Mother-in-Law here for lunch and was really pleasantly surprised. The welcome was a warm one, there is ample parking and the menu was one you would expect in a gastro pub. The food was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend you try it!

Visited here for a quick evening meal. Food was very nice and staff very friendly. Parking for many vehicles just outside.

Yes, he is but he is leaving the day to day running for the pub with the manager. Can I be cheeky and your previous experience of the pub?
