This was our third visit as I love the atmosphere at the GF and I have to say the food wasn't as good as it has been. Service was great with an attentive waitress who got it just right. The food was just wasn't as good as before but we will be back at some stage.

What an amazing dining experience. We came for Sunday roasts and were not disappointed. Service was warm and welcoming, the atmosphere was chilled and the open fire was roaring - perfect for a Sunday. We had a selection of starters (Char-grilled sprouts, mackerel and beetroot and pork rib croquettes. The char-grilled sprouts was the clear winner. Try them, even if... More

My wife and I had dinner at The Ginger Fox on a Friday night as part of a 3 night stay in the area for her birthday. We had 2 lovely starters and mains with an equally lovely red wine to wash it down, not forgetting a Prosecco and Espresso Martini to start! Overall a really lovely gastro pub but... More

Although the service was good on today's visit that's all that was right about it! We were told we needed to be at the restaurant for midday as they would need the table back at 2:15pm. As there were only two of us dining I asked if we could arrive later at 12:30pm as midday was a little early for... More

Having heard good things about this pub, we finally got round to trying it out at the end of February. It was a bit hard to find in the dark, but it was well worth the slight hassle in the end. We were a party of four people, all with different likes and dislikes, and we all thoroughly enjoyed our... More

Having finally made it to the Ginger Fox we are so glad we did. It's every thing that makes you proud to be English. Gorgeous country pub venue with roaring fires wonky floors and English wines and beers supporting the local produce. We shared a salmon scotch egg starter, it wasn't meant to share so it wasn't big but it... More

One of the best pub meals that I've had. Beautifully presented & tasting delicious. The salmon scotch eggs were amazing, i would have been happy to have that as a main. If there was one criticism it was the pancakes were a little thick but I was the only one in our party that thought that. Friendly service. Will definitely... More

We found this on TA and family confirmed that it is good here. They were not wrong, although a little difficult to find in the dark and not actually in the village of Albourne it was worth the effort. Great menu, excellent food, well presented with a good service and not overpriced. You might need a torch to read the menu... More

Lovely food, no faults there, but the service was a lot to be desired. Smile for goodness sake! We all have bad days but when you are in this industry you put your personal problems behind you and make the customers experience memorable. Ours was memorable for the wrong reasons. Also another point...service charge added on to the bill for... More

Came here for Sunday lunch. Excellent food for the money. The place was very busy and the wait to be served was quite a while. Although we were warned before hand that there was a delay. Still, it was well worth the wait. The staff were very friendly and made us feel welcome. Very reasonably priced too
