Went here on recommendation of a friend for traditional Ligurian food. Easy drive out of Bocca di Magra. Lovely historic town. Got a table with scenic hillside view. Dishes included antipasto (cod fritters, polenta, sliced veal, chicken parfait), gnocchi with pesto, tagliolini with anchovies and stuffed rabbit. Excellent wine list. Everything was beautifully cooked and presented. Service was warm and... More

Simply one of the best restaurants that I know. Absolutely worth a try. Important to book with a couple of days in advance.

A lovely, simple, but excellent restaurant on the ancient city walls. The outdoor table look up at the medieval town, and down to the coastal plain and the Lerici peninsula. Outstanding local food at great prices. Worth a detour!

A few days ago we were in Castelnuovo Magra and decided to have dinner at Trattoria Armanda. Despite the dishes will cost you more than usual in Trattoria, they are great value! the cook makes a delicious appetizer for at least 2 people (5 different tastings - you might consider to have it as a main course) and for that... Food here is very good. More top end than cheap and cheerful but the food was well presented and the service was good. They didn't mind the kids being there and overall it was good value for money.

Overall a poor meal with some exceptions. We started with the antipasti, which was about 7 or 8 dishes of whom only three were worthwhile i.e. liver pate, vegetable mousse and the courgette with meat filling. My main was veal kidneys which were greatly overcooked. No finesse. I had asked for them to be cooked rare. My friend had the... More

This restaurant never fails to provide memorable meals. In a beautiful location if you visit when the weather is good, sit ouside and look out over views down towards the sea. A small but superb menu.

Only a few tables, not many items in the menu but all of them worth having. Set menu is a good choice for the first time. One of their speciality is "baccalá" from Iceland, worth the trip to this lovely little town. We suggest a day out having a look at the marble mountains and on the way back a... More
