We always book first to ensure we have a good table. Very good food and friendly, lively atmosphere.

Weekend visit for lunch in lovely sunny day fantastic location and great gardens to eat in. Waited at bar and wondered if I was invisible as the barman served the customers at random. Elderly gent walked past 3 staff with 2 drinks carrying his walking stick under his arm spilling the drinks no help offered. I did help him as... More
I have been coming here for years and years, one of the few places I've always been proud to take visitors from around the country to. We called in last week and still found it to be one of the best restaurants in our area. We only had a quick lunch in the bar... a fish finger sandwich and the... More
The Mytton is great to visit in summer months as you are situated next to the river with a great backdrop. It's very alfresco and very popular. Enjoy nibbles or full on dining. Food is good Sunday roasts are great. Inside dining is very nice but I'm more an outdoors kind of person and enjoy nothing more than a large... More
Have stayed here for many years - even after its recent change of ownership. It's still good, and with wonderful riverside setting just off the old A5 en route to Shrewsbury, but book well in advance due to its popularity as a wedding venue.
We went there after a lovely day at attingham park. Although the hotel has lovely surroundings. There was no room to sit outside, even though it wasnt busy. There was a large area with inly about 5 tables to sit at. We had to leave and find somewhere else. Very annoying

Does not eat white bread Does not like Cheese Does not like Mustard or Horseradish As the format is usually "a selection" and things like salmon had been put on white bread not brown it ended... More
If you like me think that an afternoon tea is a very special treat, then DO NOT go to the Mytton and Mermaid. No choice of tea or coffee, decaf not even offered as an option. Dry bread with stale faces. Plain fillings, ham , beef , salmon and cucumber. No relish or mustard option. Very poor service. The food... More
Dear Julie M, Thank you for taking the time to relay your feedback regarding your disappointing visit to The Mytton and Mermaid Hotel. We are always striving to improve both our food and service and I can only apologise that we have not delivered on this occasion. With regard to service, I am disappointed that the team did not take... More
For the second year running I took my wife and children to the Mytton & Mermaid, (My children are 5 and 2). Despite after what i can only believe to be a very busy Mothers day lunch, we turned up at 3.00 for our reservation. We were greeted with Smiles from the staff and a well presented chap in a... More
