The place is very nice and the service is very friendly and agile. The food is good, however they do not match the price of the dishes. For example, the parmesan machas were delicious (never superior) but 8 came and they charged $18,000. It has no relationship between price and quality

If you start to be concerned as you drop down a narrow, sketchy dirt track to the seafront, relax. It opens out into a pretty little coastal spot with rocks, sand and the beautiful Pacific as a backdrop. The restaurant faces this and takes full advantage of the panoramic views. Neatly laid out, reasonably comfortable and boasting good, attentive staff this place scores on many fronts.
The food, however, not so much. Common to many of the seafront restaurants along this narrow ribbon of a country, they sell burger-van, styrofoam-box quality seafood at quadruple the price. I owned a beachfront take-away once on the south east coast of Africa, and I would be ashamed to serve this dried out, miserable offering. Why the processed, frozen 9mm chips (fried once)? Why the bulk catering bread crumb/batter substitute? Why the frozen fish portion? I understand the ironic difficulty of a seafront restaurant obtaining fresh produce, but it’s possible, if a little more effort.
It’s a nothing Saturday at the end of a nothing month, and this place has turned it’s tables twice for lunch so far, so I guess that is my answer. Why try harder?

This restaurant has a view of the Chilean coast that would be hard to match. We arrived in time to watch the sunset over the ocean and it was amazing. The food was good and well prepared. The service was OK - we arrived early and as more people came the service slowed down a bit. Overall a pleasant experience, especially as a place to bring visitors to have a nice meal with a spectacular view.

While it wasn’t my first time going, I was disappointed this time. Attention very slow 5 courses and more than 50 min wait, we asked since they did not take us if they could put bread as to other tables and tell us how much was left waiting, I had to stop to ask after a while again the waiter which took us a basket only with bread, I understand it is an attention of the local but by the wait I found it unusual, I had to stop again to ask for butter or something like the other tables. Dishes arrived the wicked meat was cold as were the chips which became inedible. Small sea paila, salmon well and regular boar pie. I think the biggest problem is the slowness of the kitchen which by waiting is understood that dishes are cooked at the moment which does not seem. And poor waiter care most likely due to lack of experience. It is a nice restaurant well located but I destined a lot in attention and quality of dishes, this time.

This place is not easy to find but worth the effort. Spectacular sunset views. Seafood was excellent. There seemed to be only one server and so service was a bit slow. I am gluten free and they were most attentive

Had gone to Isla Negra to see Pablo Neruda's house, which was fabulous, then as an additional treat our tour guide Felipe from Magic Chile Tours took us here for lunch....what a great experience!!!!! It is situated down a dirt road right on the beach. Absolutely gorgeous view from every seat in the house. The interior is very eclectic.....the food was excellent. I had a local Chilean dish, a crab casserole...wish I could remember the name. My friend had the local fish fried and she said it was delicious. As an extra bonus our server brought us the local digestif, aguardiente, on the house. That was a treat. The perfect end to a perfect outing.

Our guide took us to Kaleuche, which is on the beach near Neruda's home at Isla Negra. We had empanadas with crab that were the best. Then we had fantastic sea bass. It was a huge serving, we could have split one order. The food was excellent, the service good and we loved the view of the ocean. The entire meal with beer was about $50 US.

At the suggestion of MyWayChile.CL, we ate a late lunch at Kaleuche, prior to visiting Pablo Neruda's Isla Negra home. Our party of seven enjoyed not only the Beach front view, but the local seafood made to order. Though most of us spoke fluent (native Argentineans or Chileans) or conversational Spanish (from the USA), Kaleuche had English and Spanish Menus for help in deciphering the local dishes. All of the seafood was enjoyed by all.
If we were to visit Pablo Neruda's Isla Negra home again, we'd be sure to stop by Kaleuche.

I came back after a year with my family and was disappointed... the seafood looked like frozen and oily patties.

Hmmm mixed feelings.
The food is very rich and abundant. But from the lady who opens the door to the waiters, everyone was discouraged and unfriendly, which didn't leave me wanting to return despite the good food. All very concise and serious. as reluctantly
