Popped in for a quick lunch, both had different pies, both very tasty and huge, chips were very nice too, soft and fluffy inside and crisp outside. Service was good, very attentive, been before and certainly will go back. Lovely country pub

I am sorry but I do not agree with your assessment of our bar staff as I was present during your visit. You visited us after cycling in the woods and you were very muddy, no doubt to the high rainfall this spring. My young...More

Meeting friends for lunch you haven’t seen for a while should be in a cosy, nice environment (not smelly), with good food and service. I had my reservations about the venue when our friends suggested it as a meeting place, as my only previous visit...More

I remember your very favourable review and visit in June 2016 and apologise you did not have the same experience. You were originally seated in the popular Snug area and pleased the waiting staff were able to relocate you with more space. It is our...More

Had lunch here today. Really nice menu and nice food, thought it was really reasonably priced too. Love this pub, open log fires and a well kept traditional country pub setting. Lovely to then stroll around the woods opposite. The young male waiter we had...More

Great location close to Abbot’s Wood. Attractive country pub with garden and car park. Warm and inviting with open wood fire. Good selection of beers and local ale. Extensive menu but at the upper pricing level....didn’t like the “gourmet chips” but only my taste. Visited...More

Yes, we had both our dogs with us, you need to go to the left side of the pub as the restaurant is to the right. The left side is still set lovely but doggies are allowed, you need to leave muddy boots outside tho ;)
