Friendly staff and a very quick service. Liked the taste of the food, will go back again. Don't forget to make a reservation beforehand.

Situated in the centre of Amstelveens shopping area, you will find Tanuki; a really good basic Japanse Restaurant. Traditional dishes with a very good price value ratio. Lots of Japanse (good sign) and European customers that enjoy the edamame, sushi, sashimi, ebi fried, wagyu steak, maguro sarada, misoshiru etc. Used to be over crowded, but since they opened a second... I am a bit new to Jakob utility this was great and not expensive. Just asked waiter to feed us what they thought best and was not disappointed. Service a little shakey maybe but didn't really care as food so nice

The door inside the gelderlanplein shopping center was open. Me and two of my friends take a seat at a place that all the staff can see. The seat was empty and no reserved sign. We was there for ten minutes (I'm pretty sure two staff can see us) but when we want to order a girl came to us... More

Competition has definitely caught up and this place is just too far from Amsterdam for me to visit (was worth the trip before, now not so much). People serving are helpful however, nothing to fault on that side.

Being used to the cosy Japanese atmosphere in Amstelveen I tried this new venue. Not only was the service not up to the way I was used to it, but I missed the Japanese atmosphere that was so nice in the old place. Food was average, service was o.k, but not like I was used to. I will never visit... More

Right next to the shopping centre is a nice and cosy Japanese restaurant. Perfect to eat with family. We chose sashimi, sushi and wine. Very nice for a good price.

Not the best Japanese but definitely good enough to satisfy my craving. Came here twice in two weeks because I was near by and feel like Asian food. The set menu is good value either lunch or dinner. Can't get sashimi at this value in very many places. Service is good and prompt.

Last week we were, full of expectations, trying this new addition in the Gelderland plein mall.. It was a total deception, the service was the worst of all we have ever had... We ordered our lunch and waited for 1 hour without anyone wondering what was going on.. We were served our Sake bottle that was finished we got our... More

Have been here once a couple of years back when it was located back in Amstelveen and it was much much better back then (Note the address on this page is incorrect. The restaurant is now located at Willem van weldammelaan 41, Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, NL, 1082KT). After the move to Amsterdam the restaurant seems to have lost it's soul. There... More
