Pit stop that included good tour of how mezcal is made. Nice sampling of the product too. Good both European and Mexican really good. Friendly atmosphere. Good place to pick up a bottle of mezcal too! Definitely recommend food and drink!

Westopped here solely for the mezcal tour and tasting. I did not eat lunch here so this review only pertains to the mezcal tour. Mezcal is made in the traditionl way behind the restaurant. The presentation was informative. Afterward you can sample mexcal of many ages and many flavors. If you have a sweet tooth go for the passion fruit... More

The Rancho Zapata is an excellent choice after a day of touring at Mitla or Tule. The menu is extensive and offers something for every palate, from adventurous picks like grasshoppers to old standards like spaghetti. We enjoyed the delicious meal, especially the hand made corn tortillas. I recommend the memelitas; they're delicious. Be sure to check out the cactus... More

We drove from Oaxaca city to Hierve el agua and back; and this place looked the nicest (went going back). Food and the aguas frescas were really good. Atmosphere was nice overall, although they didn't seem to care about smoking on the outside tables with no smoking/no smoking seating difference. I had a bad a experience with a very spicy... More

Not too far from Oaxaca City, you can see how mezcal is made and then sample several types. Very extensive food menu also.

We loved this place so much we went for breakfast and lunch! Great restaurant on the road to Mitla and the black pottery section of outside Oaxaca. Great traditional mexican food with a beautiful hacienda type atmosphere. Make sure you go to back area and side to visit the horses and animals

The worst meal of our trip. OUr guide took us so we could try the traditional ant eggs, worms and grasshoppers. They were o.k. but cost over $50 for the one dish. It is hard to harvest the eggs so o.k. but everything else was bland and overcooked. They were friendly and gave us some mezcal to taste. The restaurant... More

I'd prefer to eat in the restaurants in Oaxaca City, but if you're touring around this place will do. The food is pretty good and the service is appropriate. But I can't say that this place was memorable for the food but rather a good eating establishment near Mitla or on your way to or from Hierve el Agua or... More

Wow, this restaurant along the road gave our group of 34 great service. The waiters were friendly and helpful. Great sense of humor as well. The menu was fantastic. You could try what most people out of the area as exotic but is of local fare. Fried grasshoppers, gusanos(maguey larvae), ant larvae(escamotee) were there prepared in various ways. There were...
