Lovely welcoming atmosphere in this very popular locals bar. Tapas is given with every drink. The food was traditional spanish and very good value. The menu is in English which was a surprise. Canar is a lovely village with stunning views where we were made to feel welcome. It as another bar near bar piqui which also does food but... More

We love Canar as the people are so friendly, none more so than in the Bar Piqui. The free tapas is always fresh and the atmosphere warm and welcoming. Lovely coffee and breakfast too is cheap and substantial. We love chatting to the locals with our limited Spanish - this year we were amazed and humbled to be invited by... More

This is one of two bars in Canar, population 300. It has a very hardy, genuine small town atmosphere and the tapas and menu support that. The prices are very reasonable and you can't go wrong with a stop into here for lunch or tapas and a drink.

A genuine friendly place that seems to be the hub of the village. We have gone on a Sunday morning and enjoyed watching the locals coming to buy their fruit and veg from the van that is at the door of the bar every Sunday morning .Sit in or outside enjoy a drink and always you get a freshly made... We drove up to Canar on a whim, following riding at Caballo Blanco, which is just above Lanjaron. Pretty village, lovely square and Bar Piqui looked so inviting for a spot of lunch... One bowl of huevos, jamon y patatas and one fantastic Alpujarran Plato - chorizo, patatas, peppers, morcilla and eggs - both delicious and very substantial. And served... More

Stop in the Bar Piqui in Cáñar, Granada, a small Spanish village in the Alpujarras area of the Sierra Nevada mountains. A must is a cold beer with tapas (snack) served with each beer. The Bar also serves sandwiches, local wine and meals. We had a great chick pea (garbanzo bean) stew that was one of the best meals we... More

We stopped here for lunch while walking the GR7 walking path fro Lanjaron to Cadiar. We do not speak Spanish but the people at the restaurant were very helpful providing us a nice lunch. Lots of locals frequent Bar Piqui gave us a nice local flavor. We returned here for dinner. They had a nice selection of meals. Not much... More
