We went here for a Valentines meal, The Valentines menu was a lot cheaper than we had seen for a lot of places. It is a lovely cosy pub/restaurant and a rose was put in the table for the occasion. The starters were good and reasonable and the Steak we had for main was amazing. The dessert were very generous.... More

Visited my son at uni yesterday and took him here for lunch to celebrate his birthday. The food was absolutely excellent and such a lot of choice. Prices seemed reasonable considering the quality of the food. I enjoyed the luxury fish pie and the white chocolate and strawberry cheesecake was to die for! My only request is could you install... Myself and a friend had a meal here recently which was excellent. The food (steak for me, Ham, Egg and chips for my friend) were both beautifully cooked and a decent portion size. They have a good selection of beer including Real Ales and their IPA is delicious. Highly Recommend this venue.

We were part of a party of 19 which went for a meal at The Merry Harriers and I am very pleased to say that both the food and service were excellent.

We met friends here today for lunch and all had a delicious home cooked meal. My husband and I have lunched at The Merry Harriers several times in the past few months. We really enjoy the ambience and attention offered to their customers by the very pleasant owners and staff. The cosy open log fire in the bar adds to... More

I visited on Sunday with my wife and 2 kids and we absolutely loved it. The roast dinner was the best we've had for a very very long time. They cater for all ages and very accommodating for the children, with the owner even bringing over colouring books and crayons. The waitresses were charming and very helpful, and the bar... More

We visited here on a Sunday based upon all the positive recommendations on TripAdvisor. It must have been a bad day because the dinner did not live up to the reviews. The potatoes were deep fried or heated from frozen, not roast. The beef was over cooked. The gravy was poor quality. The pork belly had a slab of fat... More

We were a family group of eight for Sunday lunch. On arrival we were ushered from the homely bar, through a tatty corridor to a characterless room at the back ... the 'garden room' which overlooked a car park. The food was curious too. The 'roast potatoes' were in fact deep fried. Our question about which of the lamb or... More

Thank you for your review. Quite often 'family groups' prefer the back room as it gives them more room and we do actually have customers who book specifically this room. You do not mention that it does 'overlook' the rear garden also. As regards the food, we cannot cook the joints to order (unlike steaks) so we cannot supply a... More

We came across this restaurant purely by accident However it was good that we did so.We were made welcome as we arrived, given a choice of tables and offered a range of dishes that looked extremely tempting. Each of us had two courses, and all proved to be tasty and well-cooked. Two of us had beers and the other two had... More

I organised a surprise 60th birthday party for the my dad at the Merry Harriers - it was excellent and a very good price. John (the landlord) as well as the rest of the staff could not be more helpful when it came to helping me organise it. Their function room is a good size and has a bar, toilet... More

Proprietors John & Lynn Bowen, Head Chef Rob Phillips & Second Chef's Liam Sampson & Roit Quessou and all the staff wish you a very warm welcome to the Merry Harriers. We have tried to create a warm, welcoming, traditional Pub atmosphere. We think a Pub should be a Pub - not a restaurant. We pride ourselves on providing well kept Cask Ales, a good selection of quality, moderately priced wines and good home-made Pub Grub. We source our ingredients locally whenever possible. It not only tastes great, it helps to support our local community and to reduce food miles. Thanks to our
