We have started to eat here often. It's always reliable for good food, service and the position on the beach and views are lovely. Not overpriced, the food is hot and always excellent. Good for couples, families, to take children to.

Some folk rave about this place - "you must try the fried fish" - but this is a basic beach bar / restaurant - and it does things simply and well. Dogs are welcome, the toilets are clean, the service helpful - and its not expensive - so what more do you want? If its a busier chiringuita - there... More

Somewhat disappointing overall. Friendly staff and reasonable service. Wine a little expensive. Lamb chops, gambas pil pil and Lenguado alla plancha good, but bacalao granaina had insufficient salt cod, and other starters and desserts were only average. Chips were excellent ..... but one doesn't go out for Sunday lunch just for chips! Used to be very busy and frequented by... More

We love this quirky restaurant on the beach. The gambas pil pil is delicious and we nearly always have the lenguada plancha which is also delicious. Good value for money too. What's not to like?

We visited here twice, first time at lunch we just had a couple of beers and plates of deep fried anchovies, excellent! The second time it was for a full meal and we had the sole that had been recommended by a friend. Great choice, a very good size, and freshly cooked. Can't remember the name of my desert, but... Really like eating here. Service and food are good. To have a meal so close to the sea, is lovely and the food is consistently good value. We love a walk the length of the bay then lunch here. We never feel pressured to hurry. A favourite in La Herradura.

Always quick and friendly service, delicious freshly prepared food and a homely atmosphere. Sit on the beach listening to the tide and basking in the warm sun as I did today (21st December). A highlight of our lunch was an impromptu visit by a travelling accordionist who played a short selection of light music for us before moving on; shame... More

Been going to la Gaviota for many years, menu hasn't changed much but you go there for the great smiley service and the no-nonsense local menu. Recommended : ensalada de la casa (house salad), pez espada a la plancha (sword fish), mejillones (mussels), puntillas (seasonal, mini squids), calamares (fried but yum). Look at the wonderful sea views, Eat those with... More

We have not dined here for a long time due having had a bad meal on our last visit. Convinced by friends that things had changed we again had lunch. A big mistake. The place smells of cooking fat, the food is very average and the old uncomfortable chairs and tables are from the past. Get real people this is... More

Decided to try this restaurant, wanted paella but had to book in advance. Was disappointed but had nice lunch of mixed fried fish.
