We had terrible service by the owner. We had a great night the previous evening so decided to go back. Unfortunately our order was taken by the owner who clearly was being quite rude to us as we had limited French but we were trying...our best. Our steak meals came out an hour after our children’s pizzas followed by our cheese board. The steak was stone cold and asked for new warm steaks. The same steaks came back out after being butterflied (cut in half) and re grilled. Suffice to say they were tough and inedible. The owner refused to acknowledge how terrible they were and even tried to make us pay for them. Very very disappointing after a wonderful stay in the village. Don’t go to this restaurant if you’re not French as the owner is incredibly rude.More

We had a good meal a couple of nights into our holiday - we’re a family of 3 - an inoffensive, quiet, group of 2 adults + 1 teenager. It was OK. A nice atmosphere, and the service was promising to begin with but petered...off a bit after our main meal, when they seemed to lose interest. Although, I also think there just aren’t enough staff. However, when we persevered and went back a couple of nights later for take-away pizzas, the owner was unbelievably rude. As a vegetarian, trying to order a decent pizza “sans” chicken, and a burger for a fussy teenager, without a gherkin, we were told “only 1 change per order” How much time does it take to NOT put something on??? Despite this we went back again on our last evening. Clearly we are suckers for punishment. It was 25 minutes before we were even asked if we wanted to order any drinks. We finally asked the owner, who was passing, if he could take our order. He grumbled that the waiter would be with us shortly (!) then 5-10 minutes later, he begrudgingly came back & asked us what we wanted. Meanwhile, we watched the couple next to us, who had been seated 15 mins after us, order & receive their main course of pizza & pasta. I watched another couple sit down after us, and also receive their drinks & main course before our (very basic, uncomplicated) starter had arrived. After finally finishing our starter, it took 20 minutes for it to be cleared, and so it continued. With the exception of the 2021 Covid year, we come here every summer. The restaurant is well situated. The food is OK, not amazing, but OK, albeit not many vegetarian options. Of course, if you’re limited to how many changes you can make, it limits your choice! It’s such a shame, but I can only assume that the owner feels that because customers are mainly seasonal, he doesn’t have to worry about good service and pleasantries; What’s wrong with you? Sadly, you’re rudeness has cost you at least €300 next year. You should perhaps question, particularly in the current climate, if this is a sustainable approach to running a business. Your behaviour is just so unnecessary. Very sad. One improvement might be to put your wife front and centre of the restaurant, as she is delightful !More

You can eat here, the food is ok. It is however incredibly average, and by that I mean it’s not a good French average. More like ‘we found our recipes in Readers Digest’, average. There are better options in the village.

Visited with 4. adults and 4 kids. Great options for kids and ample portion sizes even on kids menus. This is a great, family friendly, welcoming, convenient place to eat. Definitely worth a visit when in Bourg d’Oisans.

A nice restaurant in the centre of town that serves good (but not amazing), reasonably priced food. Very pleasant experience all said and done.

This restaurant, located in the centre of Bourg hits all the spots! Over four visits our group sampled huge pizzas, tasty burgers and very good steaks,. Portions were very generous, to the point of us skipping dessert. A wide range of dishes available and good...choice of beers. Staff were efficient and friendly.More

Great food and surroundings. Couldn’t believe how busy the restaurant was and so glad we booked a table. Dutch owner speaks very good English which was a plus. Will definitely go back!

Dont expect to be served dinner in the afternoon. -No servings until 6.30 pm so we had to come back in the evening. At that time, the restaurant was almost full and very busy. The menus were a bit badly translated to English and the...waitors spoke only French, but we worked it out. As a group of 6, all of us were very satisfied with our meals. The salad/vegetables on the side were fresh and delicious.More
