Four of us visited the Crafers Hotel at about 5pm. Too early for dinner, but what great eats and wine we had in front of a blazing fire. Wines (bottles and by the glass) can be purchased from the bar, but there is a fantastic selection of bottles of wines in a cellar, all assisted by qualified sommelier.

The Crafers has turned from an old brown caterpillar into a beautiful butterfly. The reno has been well executed and the building has retained its historic integrity. Service is a little slow, but it is a wonderful asset to the local village. It is incomparable with the previous hotel. Historic villages with local main street pubs are important parts of... More

I am local , arrived 6pm, had to request drinks at 6.15, ordered meal at 6.20, served meal at 7.35. Meals that arrived were cold and were taken back. Will not be back again due to service and no apology for delay.

Had dinner here in late March 2017. The place was completely booked out. The menu was upmarket for a pub. Meals were OK. I had the 1/2 roast chicken and didn't enjoy the vegetables.

Went with a group of friends. The menu was broad enough to cater with all tastes (including mine) from steak to gnocchi and the serves were large. Beer was served in a bottle if you asked. Wines are expensive, perhaps too expensive for the environment.

On Thursday March 30, 2017 I left my home in Red Hill, Victoria at 6am and spent 10 hours driving to the Adelaide Hills in South Australia. I am a winemaker and needed a good meal and a solid nights sleep before harvesting some grapes the next morning. The Crafers hotel is one of the best renovations I have come... More

Great venue, great food, good service but prepare yourself to pay for it. This venue would suit a special occasion but for a Saturday night out for a meal it is very pricey. $200 for three people - shared one entree and one dessert between three of us, a main course each, one glass of wine each and no tea... My husband and I enjoyed delicious meals in this busy place Friday night. The steak my husband had was very highly rated by him. The prices were very reasonable and great value. The Crafers Hotel staff were all so friendly and helpful. We will be back.

Dear 8MotherOfPearl, lovely to hear that you found your meals to be delicious, especially the steak. Please pop back to have a taste of our roasted chicken and sides of beef done in our new rotisserie...our chef is most excited by his new toy!! Kind regards, Julie Peter More

Had dinner here whilst staying the night at the Hotel. It was very busy on a Thursday night but the staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. Our sommelier suggested some wonderful wines to accompany our pub meal, Would visit again.

Had a nice meal here this evening with friends. Decor was contemporary and well done. I'm sure it will be lovely in the winter with a roaring fire. The wine selection in the wine room was good with some very high end wines. The food was delicious and really well cooked. The only reason I marked them down was the... More
