Nothing special from the outside but once through the door such a friendly welcome. Lovely dog behind the bar and English pub food menu on boards. We had main courses of ham eggs and chips 3 large slices of ham and macaroni cheese with side salad and 4 large slices of garlic bread. My husband couldn't believe the amount of... More

Stopped here for lunch received a friendly welcome. The food was delicious, honest good food. Great value. This is a locals pub. Been here before, reason for this visit. Recommend this pub. I would come here again.

We have been to the Blackbird aa few times. The staff are very welcoming, as are most of the locals. The decor is very tired, but I doubt they are making enough money to justify any sort of renovation. However, the beer is great and very well cellared. The guest ale varies and most recently it's been Hooky then London... More

Stopped off after Silverstone & thought the pub was rather unfriendly & could do with a clean - shame as it wouldn't take much to make this a good pub.

We eventually found the pub despite NOT being in Brackley High Street as shown on the TripAdvisers's map! It's 5 miles away in Croughton. Nice to see it operating as, apparently, a friendly local. However, food was poor and no fresh veg; we sould not eat there again.

Stopped off on way home from Silverstone. I have to say the food was absolutely excellent and the best food I have eaten in a pub for a long time. Price was good too. It was so good I had to write this review, something I don't normally do.

Called in on our way back from a weekend in Bedfordshire having previously stopped here a couple of times for coffee. Sunday lunch at £6.95 seemed a good deal. It was a choice of chicken or beef roast so I chose chicken and my husband opted for the beef. The food was served in a very good time and was... More

Roast chicken served with redcurrant jelly (hurrah!), roast beef & horseradish, all the trimmings, extra yorkshire pudding for my sister-in-law who can't get enough of them, perfectly cooked veg and plenty of gravy to be soaked up by the roasties. My idea of sunday lunch, thank you to Rob & Vera. Anyone reading reviews of the Blackbird, ignore the reviews... More

Well, it's finally happened, thank God! Our lovely village pub is again back in the hands of Rob and Vera. Not a day too soon either! Rob and V decided to retire just over a year ago, after 28 years in the pub. It always had a fantastic reputation for delicious home cooked meals, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The... More
