Had to queue for about 30 minutes when I arrived at around 11.30am but noted that there was no longer any queue from the time that I was seated until I finished my meal. So I guess coming for lunch a little later would be better. Do note that the whole dining party must queue together or else they may... More

We went to Satou Steakhouse in Kichijoji last Oct 31, 2016 at around 6pm and surprisingly there was no line outside and we were just the 3rd group of customers inside. Maybe most of the people are still busy partying coz its Halloween.😆The place is just small and can accommodate only 16 pax. We ordered the Chef's Recommendation which is... More

Matsusaka Sirloin for only ¥5,000. We also ordered their Highest Grade Filet that costs ¥10,000 per order but we enjoyed the sirloin more because the meat has more flavour than tenderloin and the marbling of the sirloin is much better, it melts in your mouth. The place very small so go at an odd hour to avoid long queue. We... More

Tsukiji Satou serves up some of the most extraordinary beef out there: the Holy Grail of Steak. Most of the cuts of meat served are Matsusaka beef (otherwise known as Kurogewagyuu or black haired wagyuu – 黒毛和牛). These female virgin cows are from a particular catchment area with characteristic marbling patterns bridging on fine art. With that said, we sampled... More

Simply the best that I've tasted! You can splurge on the 10,000 yen cut and it will be well worth it. For other days, the chef's suggestion at 5,000 yen will be more than enough to make your day. Staff were very attentive and courteous. The chef even presented the beef before he cooked it. Definitely a must-try for the... More

It is just a small and low profile restaurant located above a shop selling deep fried beef ball with limited seats. There is 1 main Chef while 3 helping to prepare the side dishes. Ordered a set which cost around US$70 and it is amazingly good. It is a Kobe beef and well prepared by the experienced Chef to meet... More

Perfectly cooked and great even solo. Don't even bother to get anything except the best Tokuzen Sirloin at 10,000 yen. Worth every penny.

One of the best steak I have ever eaten! The beef which Satou use is Matsusaka beef (松阪牛), black-haired Wagyū, also known as Kuroge Washu or "Japanese Black". It is one of the most famous beef types within Japan and internationally, with a high fat-to-meat ratio. To top this off, it's very reasonably priced! The standard lunch set of 120g... More

This place -- a small establishment in a shopping arcade in Kichijoji that doesn't feel stuffy at all -- knows how to handle steak: I had some of the best steaks I've ever had here. I highly recommend this place.

The first time I discovered this place was in Dec 2007, during the time there was hardly any English reviews and guides on how to find this place in Kichijoji. Ever since that time, I made it a point to frequent this place every time I pass by Tokyo. This latest one probably is my 6th or 7th time already...... More
