We enjoyed some delicious sea bream here last weekend. Great service from friendly staff, including one student who spoke excellent English which helped. All 3 courses were excellent as was the local wine. Great restaurant with plenty of locals dining here. Getaria is a lovely fishing port well worth a visit.

Working lunch with Spanish locals - fantastic place - best if you like fresh seafood straight off the boat. Menu in English (a bit) quite a few locals for a Monday here and you can tell why just due to the quality and ambiance of the place - this restaurant is tucked off the main view and worth seeking out... That's the locals' name for their young, dry, sparkling white wine, usually poured from a great height into your glass. Ignore the fact that you've lost some of it to splashes on the bar counter, it's how they enjoy (pronounced Chaka-lee). Standing at the bar (we'd booked lunch elsewhere), we enjoyed Txakali along with some gorgeous anchovies and a steady... More

Drove to Getaria on a Monday afternoon and decided we could do with a late lunch since we were tired. Skipped the first four restaurants as you walk up the stairs and saw this one with grill outside. Quick Trip advisor check and noted some critical reviews but were too tired to keep looking so we chanced it. Nice ambience,... More

Well, I have to say that the fish soup was absolutely outstanding! Very tasty! Then we have ordered a turbot fish as a main dish. OMG! I have never eaten anything better! I'm a pescatarian so can you imagine how many fishes I've eaten in my life. But this one...! Was the best! Only point I dont like was -... More

I went to Iribar restaurant 3 nights in a row while on a teaching trip at the Balenciaga museum. The owner was so friendly that made me feel at home immediately . Great fish soup and fresh fish cooked on the spot for you . Lots of home made desserts as well.

Excellent service, awesome meat and seafood. Food is priced to the kilo, if your piece of meat is thicker than ordered, beware the bill. Now, I don't regret my bucks, the food was really great.

Despite a few negative reviews, we can say the place was friendly, cosy, and the good was above average. The pigeon was a 5, my fish was a good 4. Service was both good and funny. The woman waiting couldn't speak a word of English but that didn't stop her telling you everything. But communication did work.

I read in a travel guide that this was a good place to dine - indeed on the Monday night it was heaving so we were delighted to be seated early. The meals were expensive but pleasant. Little atmosphere the night we visited. Most upsetting they automatically added 10% to the bill for service. Would I eat here again -... More
