We came across Keitei after a long day of shopping and sightseeing. The prices seemed reasonable; we paid about JPY8000 for dinner for 4 of us. Service was on point. Our waitress spoke English and explained all the different elements from the pickled starter to sauces etc. place was busy but we were well looked after. Large servings. Love the... More

After an exhausting day sightseeing and shopping we ended up on the 8th floor of Matsuya department store. It was just after the normal lunch hours and things were pretty quiet. We had an excellent lunch in a quiet and elegant environment. English menus were available and our waitress spoke good English. The pork was cooked perfectly, the prawn tempura... More

This place has very good sesame sauce for the salad. Their Echigo cutlet & minced meat cutlet is juicy and tender too! Price is reasonable with the quality of food offered. Highly recommended.

We arrived early so were seated immediately by the lovely soft spoken server. She gave us the English menu and though she spoke very little English, she did her best to explain to us the selection on the menu and the rituals for katsu dining: katsu sauce with partially ground sesame seeds; & pink salt with yellow mustard. We placed... More

This tonkatsu restaurant is part of the Wako chain, though there is little to reveal its provenance. Situated in the 8th floor food court of Ginza's smart Matsuya department store, behind a brown nori curtain, it has a calm and sophisticated ambiance. From the short menu (there is an even shorter English version) choose the excellent tonkatsu pork (various cuts... More

I decided to eat here the night before my Tokyo Marathon. The place is really cozy and the servers were all attentive. The food was really good from the side dishes, to the miso, to the katsu.

I always save a lunch slot for tonkatsu at Keitei on the 8th floor of the Matsuya Ginza departo - usually on a Saturday before heading to the airport - beats eating airplane food! The service is refined and the tonkatsu a touch above, in terms of quality, with a choice of pork from different areas. The cabbage, the dressing... More

We lived in Tokyo for 20 years and think that Keitei prepares the best tonkatsu in Tokyo. Great pickles and tonjiru (vegetable soup) as well.

I try tonkatsu whenever I can find it. There are a number of good restaurants in Tokyo and Yokohama serving this meal, but the best I've had in Japan is in this restaurant.
