This place is called the oldest Indian restaurant in Japan. The owner was Mr. Nair and he was at a cashier on the ground floor. He was a very unique and friendly person, and we enjoyed a little conversation. Their curry was based on South Indian cuisine, but I felt it was arranged for Japanese people. Because they used Japanese... More

The smell attracted me in to this eatery. Owner was friendly. However, the chicken curry tasted horrible. The curry was bland and diluted, and the "chicken" was weird - small pieces of "chicken" with many tiny bones?!! There are better curry elsewhere and more delicious food nearby at a lower price.

This restaurant is very famous as the 2nd owner G.M.Nair used to appear on TV as a friendly person and many people recognized his face then. As Japanese cannot distinguish R from L , I wondered why Indian restaurant call them as ''Nile'' (The nile in Egypt I mean). His Father A.M Nair came to Japan from Kerala as a... More

visited this place during lunch, the service was acceptable but the food was nothing fantastic. The curry was watery and they charged 400 yen for a small plate of white rice when 50m away another stall offer free flow of rice and naan.

We ate at this restaurant during our visit to Tokyo this April. It is a small, but popular Indian restaurant. It was very busy during our lunch hour visit. Most of the people eating there seemed to be people working in the neighboring offices. The number of vegetarian options was very limited, though everything I ate tasted good, but not... More

Very good food. The owner recommends his "Meibutsu" or Famous Dish, which is basmati rice, cabbage and secret chicken curry. Delicious. Highly recommend this place which is in the Ginza area.

This is more a Kerala style food, though it isn't exactly Kerala style either. Apparently this restaurant's been around since the late 1940s, and it doesn't look like it's been updated inside for the last 30 years. The manager is a friendly person. The food is average, and priced to the location which is off a couple of streets from... More

Very disappointing experience. We arrived at 8:57pm and the moment we were given a menu, yes only one menu for two people, we were told that the restaurant closes at 9:30pm. We could certainly understand that and we would respect the closing time, however we were told we can only choose from five curry dishes. To make things easier, my... More

A pioneer decades ago but friendly staff great location and reasonable price in a Ginza context overcome any niggles I have with adapting to local tastes and the arrival of more authentic competitors.

The owner was a friendly man. The restaurant is located right next to the Kabuki theater and Higashi Ginza subway. There are two levels to the restaurant. This place does not do Thali service. I ordered the chicken curry dish with Japanese rice. It was Kerala style food, with the server deboning the chicken before serving. In Tokyo the chicken... More
