Started queuing at about 9.30 am, waited for about 1 hour before being ushered into a tiny shop to sit at a counter where one of 3 chefs serves up super fresh sushi. It was quite an experience: the hugh but disciplined crowd, the excellent food & the whole atmosphere. Didn't understand Japanese, so we just nodded at whatever the... More

Get there early and channel your inner stick figure to keep the line from overflowing into the business next door. Stand at the counter inside to have seafood fresh from the market. The omakase comes with miso soup and if you must have more, order individual pieces.

This is a hardcore Japanese place. The wait is not that bad (got here in the rain at 745 and was in at 8). The bad part was the sushi. Sea urchin, raw shrimp, cuttlefish and other grossness. If you end up here don't get the set menu if you like western sushi. Really didn't like the selection, much preferred... More

I had great expectations about this place, but, while it did not completely disappoint, it did leave a lot to be desired. There was, as expected, a huge line, but this was well organized in a compact serpentine in front of the store. Once inside, I was shown where to sit and a few seconds later the chef who worked... Came here a week ago on a Tuesday morning at 8am. Waited 45 mins and it was completely worth it. What I tell everyone: If you're willing to wait 45 mins for a Cheesecake Factory or a bougie brunch in the U.S. there should be NO QUESTION to wait an hour most for some of the freshest sushi you'll ever... My husband and I queued for almost an hour before getting seats. The chefs were friendly and greeted us with a smile. One of them even explained each type of sushi as they placed them before us. I did not give a full 5 point rating because of the following. While eating, I saw a cockcroach scurrying across the wall.... More

Lined up for one hour, it worth the wait. Ordered Omakase, all came delicious and fresh, so i can taste the sweetness from each nigiri. The atmosphere also very warm and friendly.

We consider ourselves lucky as we were able to eat "only" after waiting for an hour outside on a Sunday morning. Sushi with very fresh, tasty fish, although I personally wish they hadn't put their original soy sauce when they served (so that I can myself dip sushi in to shoyu just a tiny bit). That's why i give them... More

In spite of the popularity of adjacent Sushi Dai this venue was suggested to me by a Japanese friend living in Tokyo. I arrived at 11:00am, queued for one hour and enjoyed a delicious sushi selection plus miso soup plus green tea at the price of 3,900.00 yen. Only complaints are the minimal space available and the allowed meal time.... More

Just amazing! The sushi here is coming straight from the sea. If you are in Tokyo, it would be a shame not to try this restaurant in Tsukiji. Heads up: try to go early(definitely not after 12), or you may not find anything to taste. Also the queu builds up really quickly, therefore earlier is better.
