This restaurant inside the Westin is lovely and peaceful. The food is beautifully presented and the service is excellent. It seems odd that one would dine at a hotel restaurant in a city as massive as Tokyo, but the convenience and quality are definitely worth it.

I had two dinners at that excellent restaurant. One dinner was the Vegetarian Course which has 7 different plates as in the photos. The 2nd dinner was the Sushi Course and it had also many plates in it, also pictures attached to this review. The food is fantastic. The setting is very nice. I will definitely eat there again.

Good quality ingredients but amazing to believe that in such a popular high class hotel like the Westin, nobody at this restaurant speaks English, it's normal in Japan and I always manage to communicate one way or the other but here I found it harder, another thing are the prices, incredibly high. 15.000 yens for a few pieces of sashimi... I have booked a large group in Mai restaurant for closing my business in Tokyo. We've been place in a private room with an exclusive service for us. We choose a set up menu degustation to enjoy the different options of the Japanese cuisine. Totally enjoyable dinner with many different dishes one better than the other. Traditional service with a... More

We stayed at the Westin and so I decided to try this restaurant whilst my husband went to Mt Fuji. Atmosphere is nice and was easy to eat at on my own. Had one of the set sushi lunch packages and everything was really yummy. Couldn't fault the food, but it was very expensive. The wine was also good.

I came here twice on this occasion, as they had a decent offering for vegetarians. On the first occasion I ate a few dishes selected from the menu, comprising a sesame tofu (which was delicious!), cold soba noodles (an acquired taste but one you will get on visiting Japan, most likely) and a lemon sorbet to finish. On the second... More

Everything about Mai oozes elegance and fine dining... We usually don't eat in hotel restaurants, unless they get spectacular reviews, but Mai just looked fabulous... and it did not disappoint... from salads, to veggie tempura to sushi - everything was beautifully presented and absolutely delicious - the sushi was fabulous. Would not hesitate to recommend... even surprised at the bill,... More

This restaurant was recommended to me buy a local japanese. He specific asked to order their TORO which it turned out to be the best sushi i've ever had (and probably the most expensive too). The sushi man told me their Toro comes from Iran which I was extremely surprised about. Make sure to save a lot of money before... More

We recently dined here because we were staying in the hotel and it was convenient. A mistake we regretted. We each ordered the same multi-course meal. I rarely leave a restaurant feeling like I was totally ripped off, but it was the case here, even going into it knowing that it would be overpriced as it is a hotel restaurant.... More

Staying in Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu

Neighbourhood Profile
Shibuya / Harajuku / Ebisu
There are countless opportunities to shop in the Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast, Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool. At the Museum of Yebisu Beer you can learn about the beer that was responsible for the town’s name, and enjoy dining at the popular noodle shops in the surrounding area.
