Everything about this place seems well thought through. The exterior, interior, food and drinks are all second to none. Portion sizes are very generous by Japanese standards and quality of food is amazing. All the dishes are presented very creatively and beautifully. Tons of healthy...More

My girlfriend and I visited Captain Cook on for her birthday on a Sunday morning in April. We arrived around 9:30AM and were able to secure outside seating. Inside attendance was relatively light as well. IMHO there are several reasons for the light attendance: -It's...More

Well Captain Hook was a pleasant surprise. From the Salmon Cakes to the spaztel the meal was cooked to perfection. Very good staff but be warned very little English was spoken but that really didn’t make a difference. Highly recommended but best to make reservations.

Well decorated cafe with a ton of food options. The food quality is second to none. Ate here at least 5 times during our 2 week stay. It’s not cheap, but considering the service and food quality, it feels like a bargain. I recommend the...More

We were part of a large party so it’s probably a bit unfair to judge the restaurant on one outing, but the service whilst friendly was pretty awful, - having to repeatedly ask for drinks that never arrived and being given the wrong drinks too....More

Great for a homey english style breakfast. The whole avocado wrapped in bacon with an runny egg inside is the best!

We chose this restaurant because we read about gluten free options, which two of our group must have. We were delighted to be seated in a cozy private room for our family party. Three of us ordered roast beef dinners (two gf, that came without...More

We thought we had scooped a booth seat and presumed the place was dead because we arrived early. Two hours later we realised our mistake. We had the whole place to ourselves but had to make multiple requests for service. Some water please, additional cutlery...More

After reading reviews on this place we took a gamble and decided to take the journey here. As a gluten and dairy intolerant person traveling in Japan dining had been difficult even with my Select Wisely intolerant card written in Japanese. After what seemed a...More

British-owned and inspired by the traditional home-style recipes of the United Kingdom, Captain Cook is truly "a little Britain in Tokyo". Captain Cook is a British restaurant located in Tokyo’s upmarket Hiroo district, established in 2015 with an aim to improve the image of British food abroad, as well as to introduce the Japanese public to the cuisine of the United Kingdom. The venue itself was created as Captain Cook’s own residence with guests invited to eat, drink and enjoy while he was away on yet another voyage of discovery. The menu was inspired by grandmother's recipes of the owner, who comes from England, as well as some dishes that are popular in countries and regions that share history of the British Empire, such as India, South East Asia and Middle East. Captain Cook Tokyo also promotes healthy eating and lifestyle, and that's the reason why the menu features a wide variety of gluten-free dishes, as well as some vegetarian options.
