Having seen good reviews for this place we organised our hotel to make a reservation for us. Having already been to many high end sushi places in Ginza/Tokyo we were very excited to try this one. It is located just outside of the main metro line and is in a quiet area. The place is very old and style is... More

All were perfect: the tuna, the friendly chefs, the Japanese family sharing the counter and the house sake. I have tried more famous (and expensive...) restaurants in Tokyo and definitely this one is the best. I will certainly come back.

Traditional sushi restaurant in a small local area. Reservations recommended. Expensive, but the sushi is heaven. The tuna melts in your mouth. Great for a treat.

Very expensive, but maybe one of the best tuna you can have. The chef is friendly, the meal is finished in less than 20 minutes, but to my opinion it was worth the try, it definitely doesn't taste the same than everything else we had.

After doing some research after a failed attempt at getting a reservation with Jiro, my friend I decided to check this place out since it was being raved at the "best tuna in Tokyo". To our luck, we were able to get a table despite not having made a reservation based on the fact that we were in Tokyo during... More

Forget about the $300+/head sushi places. Irifune is simply amazing. Much cheaper than the big named restaurants in town, but you actually find Japanese people inside rather than all Americans. Food is simply, divine. Chef Honda has access to the best tuna in town and it was truly reflected in the food he makes. We had omakase meal and it costed... More

I was lucky enough to be taken here recently on a work trip to Japan. Out for a day sightseeing with the Company MD, he had been raving about taking me here all week. Many of my Japanese colleagues were telling him 'don't waste your money on the English guy' assuming I'd not be able to appreciate the quality. That's... More

On my first visit to Tokyo, I was committed to try out one of the best sushi in town, and it seems my dream was come true when dining at Irifune. I'm interested to try this restaurant after reading the review from one of Japanese food blogger, Tokyo Joe, who said that Chef Honda (the owner of this restaurant) always... More
