Royal Host is located on the west side of Shinjuku Station in a maze of tall office towers. Walkable from the west exit of the station or a stones throw from The Hyatt, Hilton and Keio Plaza Hotels. In an office tower called The Island and on the first floor, very visable street level. This is casual dining, and mostly... More

We ate at the Royal host, as our first restaurant after we arrived in Tokyo. Based on the review, it was a little bit more Western style and English menus etc. The food was good, but the portions rather small, about half the American equivalent. Later we learned that this is the case pretty much everywhere in Japan. Turned out... More

Went here yesterday after deciding not to wait an hour for Sizzler (it's next door). The wait was less than 10 minutes and we were given both a Japanese menu with lots of photos and an English menu with none. After looking through the English menu we ended up choosing our meals from the pictures in the Japanese menu instead.... More

Great food and lots of folks who seemed to really be enjoying themselves while Christmas music played in the background. I had the chicken and fries and it was wonderful - especially after eating Ramen all week! Close to our hotel and recommended when you need a little comfort food.

We ate at Royal Host 3 times whilst in Shinjuku recently, including on one occasion meeting a Japanese family I had met in Japan before. They have a 3 year old and Royal Host suited well. Menu is not exotic, but good quality, easy to read(or look at the pictures) and an English Menu is available. For the price, we... More

We have been back at least three times. The food is delicious but pricing can be better. The portions are adequate for us. The bread is just right with soft butter. Everyone was pleased including the children who had sausages, Hamburg steak and chips. Good service from hardworking staff who received a good tip. He was pleasantly surprised because it's... More

I've always been a fan of Royal Host. They have good food choices, good quality and usually good service. In the past, it's always been 4-5 stars. This branch is no different on food quality. The new dishes in the menu like the salmon with ikura and pasta were good. Seafood is always fresh and the sauce is very creamy... More

Tried breakfast here and wish i didn't. Our server was as always very friendly but when i asked to have bacon and sausage she checked with the manager who said no. They have bacon on a few options. Sausage on other options. But all I wanted was bacon with my sausage and scrambled egg. And for some bizarre reason I... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
