We've visited the Pierre Herme boutique in Paris, and the Shinjuku boutique loses in this comparison. Try the Asian flavours. We found the floral and regular flavours such as chocolate, caramel, etc. to be too sweet. These macaroons are still fresh and delicious and not bad, just too sweet for our taste. We did not revisit.

I prefer macaron that are not too sweet, that's my priority. Comparing to other top brands, Pierre Herme's macaron are better in some flavours and inferior in other flavours. I don't think I can give PH's macaron the best in this case. + PH's chocolate macaron is just OK for me, I like other brands more + mocador (passion fruit... More

Their macarons are very good and very fresh. I just feel that some of the favours they have are a little too sweet. Recommended.

Truly superb macaron. Beautifully presented and simple. I loved the chocolate but the real standout is the lemon macaron. Tart and sweet. They are pretty much perfect.

I used to think Laudree's were pretty good but after trying Herme's macarons just once several years back, I knew they could not be beaten. It is not just the appearance and flavor. It is firstly the juxtaposition of unexpected flavors and then it is the contrasting center accent - a small burst of fruit or spice - that makes... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
