This restaurant is on the B1 level of the Shinjuku Subnade, on the East side of the station, running under Yasukuni-dori and very close to Shinjuku and Shinjuku-nishiguchi stations. I found it by matching the picture on the internet with what the restaurant looks like. No English sign outside, but they have an English menu. It is very small inside,... More

We ordered moonlight okonomiyaki and original modern-yaki. It is very rich and intense in flavour with all the dressings and sauces. It will be too much for one to finish the entire serving. There are only bits of black wahyu beef. The Hokkaido pork is a bit fat with quite heavy porky smell. Service is poor although the restaurant is... More

Tricky to find in the subnade level b2 underneath the princes hotel, right opposite Starbucks. English menu available and around 30 minute wait for a table but the food was delicious. You can sit at a table or round the bar, this place offers a wide range of Japanese food from okonomiyaki to noodles. Very small restaurant but very quaint,... More

We went for lunch there and I must say the food was not what I expected. I have eaten in Tokyo much better and much cheaper! We ordered okonomiyaki which was a mixture of fish and quite fatty meat combined with eggs and lots of mayonnaise. It didn't have a distinctive taste. It was quite bland.

Tasty food at reasonable prices. Best chawan mushi we've ever had. Busy place and had to queue to get in for dinner.

It took a while to find this place in subterranean malls of Shinjuku, but it was worth it. Sitting at the bar in front of the grill watching the creations synthesised from eggs, meat, veggies and so much sauce was a mouth watering appetizer to the full on taste that okonomiyaki delivers. Detailed English menus were available.

Saw reviews on tripadvisor recommending this as an option for vegetarians. However when I entered the staff with very little english (I had to use google translate) said nothing can be modified into vegetarian friendly. So for those vegetarians, please do not both.

Pretty easy to find... And bloody delish. Karaage is pretty good too. Had the speciality, bacon with cuttlefish and prawns.

Located in the "Subnade Basement" of Shinjuku, we had a hard time finding it with our google map app in English. It's near "Claires" and used that as a landmark to direct us. If you're looking for Okonomiyaki in Tokyo, this is the place for it! I think I've forgotten how delicious okonomiyaki was... the last place I had in... More

I really loved it: I came back twice in 2 days and their okonomiyaki is really amazing, I found something better only in Osaka but the Botejyu's version is very close. In Italy we use to think that japanese cuisine is 90 to 100% made of sushi, but it is a big mistake: the truth is that maybe in Italy... More

Staying in Shinjuku

Neighbourhood Profile
Shinjuku is the commuting capital of Tokyo, and contains the busiest train station in the world. To the west, there's an office district with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office at its center. To the east, there’s a district with long-established department stores, cinemas and theaters. Shinjuku Gyoen is a park originally built as the garden for the Imperial Household. It is quite famous as a venue for cherry-blossom viewing in March and April. In Shinjuku, many restaurants operate all night, and districts such as Omoide Yokocho (Memory Lane) or Shinjuku Golden Machi have back streets filled with tiny restaurants and bars that reflect each owner’s unique taste and style.
