Staff are well groomed, knowledgable and attentive. Paired with fantastic food made with local produce, a stunning specials list and wine from around the peninsula, The Merricks General Store is a MUST when visiting the area.

We had brekky the morning after our Xmas breakup. The Eggs benedict was devine, with juice and coffee. Perfect place to spend Sunday brekky.

Fabulous wine list and friendly service. Restaurant quality menu which is fine but would be good to have some lighter and more cost friendly options for those that don't want a heavy burger and would prefer a salad and not just a couple of asparagus spears which is the other extreme. Staff very knowledgeable in recommending different wines. Will definitely... More

Decided to stop at MGS for lunch, reasonably busy for a Monday on the Peninsula but totally understand why! Food was wonderful and the service was excellent too from the moment we walked in the door, we were warmly greeted and it continued until we left.

Wanted to like this place as I'd had a recommendation from a friend. Did like the look and the room we were in had a nice feel to it. Service was good from several young staff, wine chosen good, place was packed so we thinking it would be memorable. Not so......shared platter to start with, lacked seasoning in the Terrine,... We visited Merricks Store and brought amazing produce for our brekkie eggs Istra bacon oil. Also did wine tasting the lady that served us was a wealth of information, not just on the wines but also where to visit in the area. We were a group of friends having a weekend away so was great to get tips of a... More

It had been a couple of years since my wife and I visited here, but it seemed that time had only improved this Peninsula stalwart. There are now a number of spaces to enjoy your meal, which in our case was Breakfast. There is plenty of room between tables, and the space we were seated was certainly light and airy.... More

Don't get me wrong - the food was very good and the coffee was excellent however we were treated as second rate citizens as we dared to show up without a reservation on a quiet windy cold Sunday morning at opening time. I have never felt so unwelcome.

Nice general store feel with the contemporary make over.. Can't really comment on the food as we went there for afternoon tea.. Coffee was good and you could buy their house blend beans.. And the peninsula honey won't cost you $17 like the other trending bakery.. My friend picked up some Istra bacon and for myself I chose some olive... More
