Tea room housed in an historic building, Good food and lovely staff. Tosties and paninis are a bit overpriced.

Visited the White Monk in Blanchland on Bank Holiday Monday What a treat the staff are very friendly, the service was first class even though they were really busy, the food is all home cooked and delicious, we will definitely be back.

Although we had to wait outside for 20 minutes, it was worth it. Delicious home made cake, perfect cafetière of great coffee, fluffy scones and a lovely selection for light lunches at reasonable prices. Much much better than the Crewe Arms!

Sorry. I don't know.
Was the playground originally enclosed by iron railings? I suspect that it may have been & the railings were perhaps commandeered for the war effort in 1914. If so, did you ever think of restoring that feature? It would give you a large enclosed outdoor space for more tables & families would have no concerns for the safety of their children.
