My wife and I enjoyed an excellent lunch here today. This makes the 4th time in nearly 30 years that I have experienced the good cooking found in this restaurant. The food was delightful and service was prompt. We have never been disappointed by the...quality of the cooking or impeccable service. Highly recommended. I look forward to our next visit.More

Our friends had been eating here before and liked the place, so perhaps we were just unlucky to come on a bad day - or the standard has come down lately. Unorganised taking of orders, food over cooked and served on chipped plates, that is...not ok no matter what type of restaurant you visit. It took ages for the dishes to be cleaned out and no one even bothered to ask us if we wanted coffee or tea. Yes, the restaurant was busy, bu it was quite a lot of staff working, some of who were busy sorting out forks and spoons instead of cleaning tables. Not good enough even in a place where most customers are tourists that are there once and will not be returning customers.More

There is not a lot to say - the staff was friendly and accommodating (and good with our kids). The food was good. I'd go again in heartbeat.

I ate lunch here twice during my stay in the area. I had first dined at this restaurant 25 years ago during a father-son trip to Normandy and had fond memories of the visit. The food was delicious and the service was prompt. Nice view...of the port from my table. I plan to return next June with my wife.More

We had lunch here twice while renting a house in a nearby village. Both times the food and the service was excellent. The first lunch was on Sunday, and the place was packed! Be sure to make a reservation so you won't be disappointed. My...husband had oysters as a starter at both meals- and he said that they were some of the best he has ever had. I had the foie gras, and we both had the veal with mushrooms followed by creme brule. Delicious!! For the second lunch which included another couple, we all really enjoyed the meal. One of us had the terroir menu which included beef cheeks, and the rest of us had seafood- all was excellent. Probably the best meals we had in France on this trip! We did not have it, but several tables around us had seafood pyramids on ice with oysters, crab legs, and a whole variety of shellfish- very impressive presentation- and they all were digging in!!More

Had a lovely meal here one lunchtime ... amazing how busy (for a Monday!), but understood why when we got the food. Two in our party had the oysters, I had a beautiful prawn starter. Mains included a monkfish risotto which was amazing (risotto was...with black squid ink, SO tasty) and a lovely, fresh strawberries sweet. A set menu, not badly priced for the quality (seems more expensive but that's the exchange rate!). All had a kir to start and I had one glass of wine. Unfortunately, my husband went to pay the bill, commented to me it was quite expensive and it was only after we got back to our cottage and I looked a the bill that we saw they'd charged for a full bottle instead of a glass ... so, £25 more than it should have been. Always leaves you wondering and put us off returning. Shame as lovely food.More

On a Shearings coach trip we lunched in Grandcamp Maisy and this pretty much was the first restaurant we saw, looked at another place but returned here because we wanted oysters. We were seated promptly and menus were brought but our we waited some time...for someone to take our order. This of course is perfectly normal in France where any meal is an occasion but when you are with a party of 40 plus and a bus is waiting it was a shame. The location was fantastic, eating overlooking the harbour our oysters were fresh and succulent the wine was chilled and the cidre very palateable £90 for four, pricey but this is France but worth every penny, unfortunately we had to leave before one of our party got his included dessert as the coach was waiting. But would return, the huge seafood platter offerings looked fantastic.More

We come every year and stay in Grandcamp Maisey. Our favourite restaurant has always been La Maree and we always look forward to eating there. This year has been very unexpectedly disappointing. The prices have gone up, but the standards have gone down. Two nights...in a row, we’ve had unseasoned and over cooked fish and dry chicken. The starter and desert courses remained excellent. We wondered if there was a trainee chef on. The service was also less warm than usual. We hope this is a blip and will give it another chance, but will not keep returning unless the standards return to their previous high calibre. We noticed also that the restaurant was less full even in peak season, so perhaps others are also experiencing similar.More

Oh how nice it is to sit with a harbor view in a restaurant which served delicious food. We were part of a tour group (40+) which descended upon this mid sized restaurant. The tour guide took our orders (for one of 3 entrees) and...called it in a few hours before our arrival. The staff efficiently served us without error or issues within a relatively short period of time - they do have their act together. The fish dish was excellent and the beef option was much better than what was served at a small bistro in Paris. The waitress was quick and nimble in order to serve all of us on time. We would love to go back to try out other items on this well respected restaurant.More

We booked this tour to the Normandy from Paris with lunch included. John, our tour guide, called the restaurant early to let them know what everyone wanted to eat and he said that they needed the information early to be able to go to the...fresh market and buy our food that very morning. I was already admiring the place. So, later on we went to the restaurant for lunch and needless to say, it was an awesome experience. Fresh ingredients, well prepared, beautifully served meals. All was ready when we got there, no delays, the crew was very professional. The small town where the restaurant is located is gorgeous. So worth it the visit and totally recommended.More
