After 40 years of eating out I have never ever been served food as awful as this. The service was just as bad. Despicable basic and pathetic frozen chips with a steak and ale pie which was beyond comparison with any poor meal I have...ever eaten. Gravy I thought was a jug of coffee obviously came from powder. Originally asked for mash which was not available, overheard the table next to me saying it was powdered. Great location with acceptable beer but please do not order food.More
Thank you for your feedback. We are very concerned by your comments and will investigate further as the team do jot recall any negative feedback from you. Our food is all home cooked by our team of chefs using fresh local produce. Gravy is made...More

Not the greatest range of real ales but the food, service, and friendly staff this afternoon, 11th Sept 2023, more than makes up. First time ever visit and would return 👊👊👊
It seems chef hasn't taken on board previous comments as our chips were not cooked through either, not nice. It is a bit worrying if you are unable to cook frozen chips properly! Did mention this when we paid and was told this would be...passed onto the chef. On a positive, the staff are very friendly and welcoming but the kitchen seems very disorganised.More
Everytime we stay in New brighton we look forward to our meal at the ferry .this time we was rather disappointed, we both ordered the hunters chicken it arrived hot like it always does ,but the chicken was hard and very overcooked it was liked...it had been cooked then recooked ,when we okay our bill spoke to the barmaid and informed her ,was informed that she would tell the chef ,this was the first time nobody checked with us if everything was okay ,More
My family visited The Ferry with some friends who were visiting from Derbyshire as we wished to showcase the venue's unrivalled views of Liverpool's iconic cityscape and while our upstairs table for 9 did indeed provide us with a beautiful vista across the Mersey (gaining...this review an extra mark), it was such a shame that the rest of our dining experience here proved to be a major disappointment, and for us as hosts, frankly an embarrassment. I don't like it when I see people writing negative reviews for seemingly no good reason and especially don't do it myself with any relish, particularly when, like this, it is a business local to myself but I cannot overlook the series of issues we experienced here. We were booked in for Sunday dinner at 1:30pm but while there were quite a few other diners, it didn't seem overly busy and there were certainly plenty of waiting staff on duty. Despite the apparent strength in numbers from staff, there seemed little communication between them all. One of our guests is a vegetarian and was told there was a vegetarian menu but it did not appear for a long time, her husband went downstairs to enquire and was mistakenly told there wasn't a vegetarian menu but rather just the vegetarian dishes included on the main menu and then after a long wait, the vegetarian menu was finally presented to us. Again, despite the significant numbers of staff, the service was very slow but after we did eventually order, when the drinks came, one was missing, as was a Yorkshire pudding added to a chicken dinner (you have to pay an additional £1:50 for them if it's a non-beef roast), a portion of chips and coleslaw that was supposed to come with a steak burger. When the latter omission was pointed out, we were just told that they didn't have any coleslaw but there was nothing resembling an apology or offer of a potential substitute item. One of our guests immediately sent the chips back when they did come because they were not cooked properly. The same could be said for both the potatoes (very hard) and broccoli that came with our meals but given that the whole experience had been embarrassing enough for us, we kept quiet. These issues were pointed out to staff though both when they were clearing the table and the bill was being paid but other than a half-hearted reply that the message would be passed on - hopefully with rather more accuracy than our orders - they were merely met with what seemed like disinterested shrugs and apathy.More
Called in for a drink on our walk was getting on so we decided to have a meal ,The pub wasn't massively busy well got drinks pint for me and coke for my wife ,we orderd food I orderd fish and chips my wife orderd...Gammon steak and chips ,Barmaids were very loud shouting to each other one of the barmaids, swore not good with kids in pub not mine others after 20mins ,no food so asked and was told that food takes 20 to 30 mins as all homemade and freshly cooked,Well the food arrived my wife's Gammon steak which is by weight well at least a quarter of it was just fat I know Gammon has fat but ,I wouldn't have served a Gammon steak with so much fat, the batter on my fish was chewy and both prtions of chips were cold ,Told staff and she just said oh ill tell the chef not good really ,Barmaids were awfuly loud to be honest ,Had dessert which wasn't bad wasn't the best So all in all no I wouldn't reccomend this pub for a meal .We will certainly not have a meal in there again ,Disabled toilet seat was absolutely filthy to not very hygienic, What a shame food let this pub down .More
50 minutes and still waiting. The bartenders are great, fantastic people. The food takes forever. As I write this, the kids have been waiting over 50 minutes for childrens food.. three year olds. Is what it is. Good bar service. They ran out of rice...but are making an effort with alternatives.More
Took my dad for a pint, he can't walk far but got a limited parking space! The Ferry is in a great location with views over to Liverpool waterfront and directly opposite the new Bramley Moore stadium. Dad wanted a sandwich so we ordered a...club sandwich and salt n pepper chips. Unfortunately, we ordered at the same time as several others which resulted in a very long wait. So much so one couple cancelled their order but when I went to enquire with a view to cancel, our order was ready! Reason for my post is to acknowledge how lovely the two girls serving were. Friendly, smiling calm and when our food was brought we were offered free drinks for the wait! Never expected that! Great service despite the wait! Thankyou!More
Thank you for taking time to write a positive review. We do get extremely busy and unfortunately that can sometimes mean there can be a slight wait for food. Great to hear it was worth the wait. We look forward to welcoming you back again...More
Friendly staff good food and a clean environment. We went to the Ferry for a meal and were greeted by friendly staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Took us to our table with a fantastic view over the Mersey to Liverpool. We ordered a...drink and food. We both had Scampi Chips and proper mushy peas. The food arrived quickly. It was reasonably priced and hot. The staff were friendly and professional. They have a special lunch menu and vegetarian menu. Will go there againMore

Nice food and great staff. Cheese and Ham Toastie with real ham. No cheap stuff here. You do pay a premium for that of course. I'd definitely recommend. 4/5 Staff at another table recommended a cheaper option than they were ordering. Impressed.More
