5 friends and myself booked dinner for a birthday celebration and we had a fab night. Good food and a great atmosphere, customers are well looked after by the staff who are brilliant . Service was excellent
This place is my local (though i live over 5 miles away) I started frequenting the Pot n Glass a good few years ago for its very good cask ales, traditional pub atmosphere and the friendly drinkers who have also made it their local. It...has recently changed management to Kevin and Rebecca (big round of applause for them) and the pub has retained all the attributes that I have loved and cherish and many of the original staff have been retained. One change that has been evident is the offering of authentic Thai / Oriental food which I have sampled a number of times to my delight. This pub is always welcoming and because there's no blaring telly or piped music spoiling things you can have a great conversation and you may even make new friends. There is a lovely log fire blazing in the bar most nights which warms me up quickly after my cycle ride to the pub in the winter. I can highly recommend the Abbot ale and Old Peculier. I sincerely hope Kevin and Rebecca carry on the great tradition at the Pot N Glass.More
Visited the Pot and Glass for tea on Christmas Eve. Very lively and friendly atmosphere as you would expect.Had starters and main courses from the Thai menu which were delicious.Would thoroughly recommend this to anyone wanting great food at a reasonable price.
Yarm is a little town with quite a few great pubs, BUT if you like GREAT quality real ale you will struggle! However, just outside of Yarm is the Pot and Glass pub selling EXCELLENT quality real ales, by a country mile THE best pint...not quite in Yarm!More
We all absolutely loved our delicious Thai lunch. Great food and atmosphere. Totally recommend visiting ‘Heng’s Kitchen!’
Have enjoyed the excellent beer, great atmosphere and amazing wit (!) of Dave the Landlord for years. Tonight for the first time sampled the new Thai/Cambodian menu and it was excellent. The Yarm area has been in need of something like this. Starters (dumplings; chicken...satay and spring rolls) were all fantastic. The mains were properly spiced and sauces were delicious. Pad Thai and Basil&Chilli chicken in particular were amongst the best I’ve ever eaten. Service too was really quick. Would unequivocally recommend. Give it a go!More
New Thai menu first evening tonight, absolutely gorgeous fresh flavours and good sized portions. Great service from Dave and the team as usual.
Popped into Yarm with a friend for a catch up and was looking for somewhere to eat, we went on a wander and ended up in Egglescliffe. Oldie worldie, lived in type of place but received a warm welcome. We opted for a steak and...ale pie and a parmo - delicious, home-made chips and good portions, piping hot and service with a smile :-) We even managed to squeeze in a cheesecake and a coffee - well it's the law when you are out for lunch. Thinking of popping back for a Sunday lunch and a stroll around the village - Butt's Lane gets me every time!More
Excellent find. I’ve wanted to try here for sometime, so on an impromptu walk around Yarm, we decided to go for some lunch. It’s a lovely stroll up to a quant area with views over Yarm. Ice cold Guinness was spot on and the food...was excellent. My partner had a special Mediterranean chicken, and I had the beef pie. Very cautious when getting pies due to the disappointment when it’s loaded with fatty meat or mushrooms. This pie was exactly what you cross your fingers for. Perfectly cooked big chunks of beef in a rich ale gravy. Fantastic. And the landlord was brilliant. Really glad we went. I will definitely return & recommend, I hope they don’t leave (but that’s just me being selfish)More
Wow wow wow I had my 50th birthday party at the pot and glass it was fantastic couldn’t of ask for a better place, Dave and Anne bloody brilliant the buffet Anne did for my party was just perfect so much lovely food especially the...roast potatoes all my guest commented how lovely the food was, I would highly recommend the pot and glass it’s a 10 from me thankyou so much again Dave and Anne love Claire xxxMore
We would visit this pub much more regularly if they allowed dogs and offered a couple of plant based / vegan options. It’s a nice cosy pub and the service is good but if there was ever a pub that should allow dogs in this...is the one! With Yarm starting to be much more dog friendly and many more meal options it would be great to see this pub also doing this.More
Went here for lunch as a change from the high street. The service was great and the lady was very friendly and attentive but unfortunately the food was not very good. My husband had the steak pie which he enjoyed but the chips had been...cooked in old fat or oil and they had an awful after taste. I had the pulled pork sandwich which just tasted like pulled pork with a supermarket bottle of sauce poured over the top and the veg were tepid and bland. Lovely cosy pub but unfortunately we would not eat here again sorry.More
Faultless food, traditional old style pub decor with scruffy seating & fittings amongst the old school brass rubbings & dark wood. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I understand the old style pub image they're going for but the toilets, outside seating areas etc could do with...some TLC.More
Only the second time we have been to the pot and glass, the first time was fantastic, lovely place, proper old pub atmosphere and the food was exceptional This time was even better,so friendly and accommodating, food knocked out of the park, great selection of beers If only every pub...took a leaf out of the pot and glass book of how to run a pub……. Well done,we will be back👍👍More
