Now called 'The Lair', it's a small place and very easy to drive past - you'll regret it if you do! Easy parking and with a view over the fence where the neighbour has deer (and a lot of them!). A collection of spotless clean...tables, and a well stocked serving area, freshly made cakes and fancies - I do recommend the fruit scones with jam (get them warmed up - fab) - they use china teacups and saucers too! Loads of gifts and those rare things nowadays - post cards! Really friendly staff - I'd give them 5* EVERYDAY.More

A little gem on the route for Aberdeen. We ordered coffee and cake, both have room for improvement. Excellent variety of gifts.

Family of 5 stopped in for tea and Cakes, lovely gluten free cakes, fresh and lots of choice. Two ladies were very helpful and knew lots to do around the area. Great wee gift shop also!

Stopped here on the way to Braemar. Great spot, next to the deer. We enjoyed our cakes and a lovely cup of coffee. Service with a smile.

Three of us turned up like drowned rats having motorbiked over Glenshee through the rain and cloud, but the team here were unphased. Happy to let us dry gloves on the Aga, and provided great cake and coffee to get our spirits up!

Dreadful customer service Very unwelcoming Such a disappointment as a good location but it was as if we were not wanted The front of house staff need training in customer service Avoid at all costs … I will take my money elsewhere

We were served rather abruptly by a tall, slim woman, who told my partner she didn't need to wear a mask. My partner replied she is in the habit of wearing one, only to be told "that's not a very good habit". I didn't know...that cafes were now providing free Covid advice but I'd rather consult a health professional. The drinks and cakes were spot on, but the visit was marred by Madam Grumpy.More

The setting may be ideal but beware. Either those who run this place are experts in public health and know more than everyone else or they are completely ignoring all regulations re. COVID. None of the staff wear masks, no check in required by visitors...and no hand sanitiser on entry/exit. Staff spend most of the time gossiping amongst themselves.More

Very disappointed that the serving staff were not wearing facecoverings and not complying with the requirement to collect customer details for track and trace. This suggests poor covid care and little concern for customers.

Went for coffee as it looked lovely and couldn’t believe my ears . Woman opened the door waving her hands around saying I am closed can’t you read the gate . Then continuing to speak to us in the most ignorant manner ! I was...boiling and told her how rude she really was. I wouldn’t go near the shop again I’d rather walk down to the river beside it and have a drink to be honest that meet her again. Don’t go near it is my advice !More

Gem of place on A93. The staff were very friendly, the coffee was amazing and they had locally produced ice cream to keep the young adults happy. Right next to the tea shop, we chanced upon a parcel of deer which added to the delight!...Must stop place for any future trip.More
