Went there with Honiton ring and ride taking minibus load of people for a lunch trip. Food was plentiful, hot, well cooked and tasty, loads of veg provided. The steak and ale pie should be compulsory for all pub landlords to try, as this is how it should be done and not the allegedly 'home made ' that some pubs... More

Looked after extremely well, service excellent, in fact I returned in April with my Husband and 12 year old. Had a great meal, we loved the trivial pursuit cards on the table! Best dinner out as family we've had for a long time. Staff amazing.

I stopped at the George to eat while travelling from Kent to Plymouth, We only found it because of a diversion and now I know where it is I'll certainly make a detour and go there again. The welcome was very warm and friendly and the food was reasonably prices plentiful and delicious. My daughter and I loved the Trivial... More

Popular and friendly pub with parking to the rear. Always a wide selection of home cooked 'specials'.

Very easy to find main route from Ilminster to Chard. Reasonable carpark at rear of pub. Very nice staff, homely feel. A little cramped but this is due to size of the pub. Food was very nice and all round very reasonably priced.

The starters were brought out before all of our table had returned from the bar, we had 3 courses in an hour! It was very rushed. The brie was overcooked, the turkey was sliced bought in with no cranberry sauce, the sprouts were cooked with bacon (we had 2 vegetarians),the carrots were hard , and the roulade was Swiss role!... We booked our table for a Saturday night which we thought might be busy, the pub its self was lovely and warm with the log burner gently crackling in the background. We ordered drinks and took our seat, after being politely left to peruse the menu at our leisure we placed our orders, our starters prawn cocktail, Chicken liver Pate,... More
