Paolo is always a good host, and although he doesn't speak much English, is happy to accommodate his guests. The food is good, and almost too much if you have the set menu, but very nicely cooked and served.

We were told that truck drivers drove out of their way from long hauls just to get a sandwich at this restaurant. We didn't understand the hype until we ate there. This is by far the best roasted pork sandwich I have ever had. Usually,...I like a little mustard on my pork sandwich, but the sandwiches here are perfection and anything that you could put on the sandwich detracts from the taste. The restaurant is no frills. Unusual for Italy, most of the business is take out, although there is a small dining area. There is no variety in the menu (pork sandwich or roasted pork by the kilo), and yet it is worth a trip to eat food from there. Sometimes the sandwiches come on thick bread slices, sometimes on Ciabatta rolls, but the sandwiches are always exceptional.More

It is a very traditional bar/cafe that serves the best porchetta for miles around. You have to often book ahead for Pina to reserve your amount of porchetta. It is wonderful but often it is a tad too salty! Well you just have to drink...more beer. Have been visiting there for 13 years.More

This is a no frills cafe but serves the most delicious pork we have ever eaten! The first day we tried - they had run out, so we are glad we called again and sampled this local food. Great flavours! A plate of meat served...with a basket of bread. Simple!More

Sells two items - porchetta and arrosticini. Both are OK - but no better than you'll get anywhere else in the area. Lu Pennese can hardly be called a restaurant, as it's basically a bar, with a tiny and not especially nice eating area to...one side. Much bigger outside area, but again, as it's on a bend on a busy road, not great. Final minus is your food has to be ordered in advance. So not much chance of a spontaneous drop-in on the spur of the moment. Parking can be tricky when it's busy.More

I have eaten here once or twice in the summer and although the food is limited the porchetta and arrostocini are great! It is also a great place to rub shoulders with the locals. I also get porchetta to take away from here, it is...really that good, and it is also worth buying a half a kilo of their homemade sausages.More

The host is a very friendly person, who made sure that we had great service, and lots of drinks! The food was tasty, unfortunately the night we were there it wasn't very busy, and as it's a huge place one felt a bit lost. I've heard that...you must book though for weekends, especially in the summertime. We will definitely be back.More

We've only recently started to patronise Lu Pennese (partly due to Saturday closure of our usual haunt) and are so pleased that we have. Only a few minutes from home and the best porchetta we've ever tasted. Enough said.

This is an amazing place, it doesn't look much but the porchetta is fantastic. As I dont eat much meat this isn't the norm for me, but the pork here is something special. Also you can order as many of the superb arosticini kebabs as...you can eat - again a real treat. Only serves food on Friday, Saturday Sunday and you are best to book if you can. In the summer you can sit outside and watch the kebabs being BBQ'd. Value for money and staff, cannot be beaten. Its a great experience. You must go!!More

A simple cafe setting that sells porchetta that melts in the mouth, superb arosticini (best for miles) and the salami and cheese platter is great for sharing. Simple and basic service but excellent food.

Local specialities are served here, in what can only be described as a meat fest! Dishes include Pecorino cheese and home-made salami, Porchetta and Arrosticini- cooked to perfection charcoal. All this, plus two litres of wine, bread and a coffee only came to 10.50 Euros...per person! They have a lovely outdoor eating area, where they barbeque the meat in front of you, however, this only opens in the depth of summer. Make sure you book, as in the summer months the restaurant is very popular with locals and tourists. You will find Lu pennese at various locations in the area, selling Porchetta from a van. Give them a try!More
